Working on BGS and/or minor faction influence during war

Hi CMDRs

Is there any reliable and definite answer whether combat bonds only or massacre missions as well do count for influencing the BGS / minor factions during war?

From my experiences, and many others;

Massacre Missions themselves do nothing, no missions, trading, exploration works during Wars and Civil Wars.
Massacre Missions do function as a proxy however, as the cashed in bonds of players working towards them does count.

Combat Bonds only appear to function in the system of the conflict. It is largely transaction-based, so drop the notion of farming millions of credits, you want tons of turn-ins done separately to have the largest impact in most cases.
From what I can tell, the value does effect the transaction worth, but its countered by the population size. Larger the system, the more you need to do to where its worth more to do several quick runs than only a few large ones.

Bounties handed in work much the same as Bonds, and can be used everywhere to prop up your influence during Wars and Civil Wars - however it is woefully inefficient compared to normal missions.

The best option is to work during the pending phase to get a head start, make sure you keep the winning gap 5% for Wars and 3% for Civil Wars through the first 3 days active, and on that third day make sure that gap is there on the 4th to finish.
A long, drawn out conflict will wear your faction down as every other opposing faction can work against you just fine normally, and your own group is stalling during it.

The last alternative? Murder your opposition. Target and kill clean ships of factions in the system that are not the one you support. By reducing the influence from opposing factions yours will gain as it is the one faction not being murdered. This tactic can work well in some situations and low populations - but it becomes increasingly difficult to do in larger systems.

While there is occasional debate about this information, I have yet to replicate other claims than these to effect influence in the systems during Wars and Civil Wars.

So it's simply for the sake of making CR, o.k. :) But that's definitely not my main concern. My ED bank account is nothing to complain about.

Due to the War state the only way to support a MF in the Systems it controls is as follows:

Bounty hunting in RES, USS or SC.
Kill wanted ships except of the controlling MF.
Turn in only bounties of the controlling MF.
If you want to cash in the other bounties use a nearby Interstellar factors facility. Can be found in any Anarchy or Low Security System.
As always: the more transactions the better.

We go by this tactic in every armed conflict and it has served us well.

As Starwolfe indicated, only the combat bonds have direct influence, the missions, rather all/any missions have no effect other than to draw in outsiders to fight and hand in bonds.
Also very correct in the murder aspect, as in away from the CZ's killing clean ships will push killed ships faction towards civil unrest as well as deflate their inf%, by combining this tactic along with normal tactics you can actually push past the normal max 10% daily influence change and easily hit a 20% influence change if done right.
On top of that, other factions tools still work as long as they are not in war or civil war, so by adjusting their inf%, the warring factions INF will also change.
Keeping in mind in all this that anarchy factions if present(usually are) don't have clean ships...and even though killing them tarnishes your rep with them, it actually raises their inf...

So the main answer, if you are trying to control the INF of one of the warring factions, don't waste your time taking missions to do it, just get in there and kill the oppositions ships, hand in bonds often for best impact.
easier to be more helpful if I knew the pop size, and also wether you simply want a quick win, or if you want a prolonged war, as a win or quick win is not always what a person wants.
But if after the first day or 2 of the fight, the odds are not yet in your favor due to various reasons, you may then want to also resort to the killing of clean ships outside of the CZ if its possible, it will make you wanted but it will give faster results. If you do this though, thanks to the new C&P, be aware of the superpower ATR ships, once they start showing up....they can take down your shields in an instant and waste your ship in another instant, it is not a fight you can win, you either run or die.

Knowing the value that a bond amount has against a particular population size is vital for precision, but precision is not always required.
if the pop is in the billions, it will be a large amount and will be hard to affect change, especially if there are others taking part that you may or may not be aware of.
If the pop is below 1mil it will be easy to affect change.

You can still do Massacre missions you just need your minions to be sensible, 1 to 3 kills pop out turn in the bonds , as long as your choice of CZ is not to far from a station your clearing MM at a reasonable rate . It keeps the BGS lords happy and the minions happy as they can get the cash boost from a MM.

If you want to actually win a war through combat, massacre missions are less efficient than regular CZ-killing. That's because the massacre mission itself contributes nothing to the influence change, yet it encourages you to stay in the CZ until you hit your kill quota (or run out of ammo / get too badly damaged), whereas for maximum BGS efficiency, you should be dashing into a CZ, making one quick kill, then dashing back out to cash it in. Because influence shift is transaction-based; the size of the transaction is irrelevant. So killing one Eagle, one Anaconda or fifty miscellaneous ships, all counts as "one transaction" when you hand it in. This is especially true if the player is time-constrained and can't afford to take the time to reach their kill quota one ship at a time.
