Workshop

I am coming from the steam workshop. So far i like the integrated and the easy to use Frontier Workshop. But we (my girlfriend and I) do miss a few things.

I have to set a blueprint to public to share it with my girlfriend. An option of "not listed but share-able" would be great.

At least maybe 3 to 5 pictures would be great to add as a preview. Especially for bigger parks.

I assume that we will use forums like this to show of our work, with a proper introduction, like in the old days? I have the feeling that some smaller creators, simply will be overlooked because of bigger content creators without a social media presence.

Just a few thoughts. How do you think about? 😊

Sorry for pushing here. I used the Workshop for a few days, and oh my gosh.

I am new to the Frontier Workshop. I am, of course, spoiled by Steam (well, if you can put it that way xD), with its functions and possibilities. We've noticed a few things and maybe some of you can hopefully give me some tips.

1.) First of all: We can't see the number of likes when we open our own workshop item.

2.) The preview image is very pixelated. Could it be due to the 1440p resolution and the workshop's compression?

3. Unfortunately, many people don't write anything about their parks or blueprints. You do have 1024 characters available, after all. Just a few words would be enough to give some context about what you are subscribing to.

4.) TAGS. It's nice that tags can be used, but we have found that searching with tags produces very imprecise results.

5.) Parks and blueprints. I find it a bit unfortunate that some people save and upload their blueprints as parks, which makes the search even more inaccurate and difficult. You already have to click around a lot in the game, and then you also have to do it in the workshop to find something again.

Now to the big pile.

6.) Those who were able to play the game earlier are, of course, at the top of the list because they always have a head start. This will remain the case for some time. Smaller project creators or beginners are somewhat forgotten in the process.

7.) Overall, I now find it difficult to be seen at all with the sheer number of items being uploaded daily.

8.) So, do you have to share the code to get a few downloads!? Does that mean you have to post in game forums again (of which there aren’t many left) or draw attention to yourself on Discord?

Do you need a YouTube channel to upload videos so that you can share the code a bit more? Including other social media platforms with followers to showcase your projects?

This feels like a full-time job.

You only have one image and 1024 characters in the workshop. You don’t get any feedback, criticism, or tips on what could be improved.

How do you envision this working? What can be done so that your own workshop item doesn’t disappear into a black hole after just a few days, never to be seen again?

There is simply a lack of information here. Sure, well-known content creators have their consumers, but because of that, others don’t stand a chance. I find the system a bit unfair to players.

I might be misunderstanding something, so please correct me if that's the case.
