Worst Case Scenario Survival - Problems and Crowd Sourced Solutions

Okay, I'm sure we've all had our own "no win scenarios" we've been dumped into, and don't see any possible way out of it should it happen again. But maybe the collective mind here can come up with ideas, even if it's a slim chance, to at least give us a sense of hope should we be in that situation again. I'll start with one I bet a LOT of you can empathize with.

I'm inside the spacestation, lined up with the docking pad, when suddenly - BOOM - Afterburners. And since you're facing away from the mail slot... you are so much dead. You can't turn off the afterburners. You can't turn fast enough inside a station, and full reverse isn't going to do jack in time to save your bacon.

What possible way is there to avoid becoming splatted on the far end of the station? Divert power away from engines? Would flight assist off help you turn faster to line back up with the mailslot? Would full power reverse with flight assist off help at all?

Feel free to add your own Worst Case Scenario and see if anyone has some survival tips for you (besides putting your head between your legs and kissing your ass goodbye, that is) :)

All power to engines with full reverse.

Just before impact get 4 pips in shield.

It has saved my bum a few times - reasonable shields are required; so lower class shields to make way for extra cargo can be a problem!

You could bind your boost to a button/key that you can't easily press on accident.

The point about Worst Case Scenarios is trying to figure out what to do after you're in one, not how to avoid it in the first place. Besides, I've only ever done this once, due to fatigue. We all make mistakes once in a while.

Can you try to scrub-off speed by clipping off the buildings and other internal structures, rather than hitting the end square-on? It would probably send you tumbling but could spread the impact into a number of (potentially) survivable smaller impacts.

If you are quick enough, FA off and 4 pips in shield, turn 180 whilst boost is still going - hopefully it should mean you only slam into back wall a little hard but not a write off!

If you are not that quick (usually I am not because I am not prepared for after burning into walls) - 4 pips in shield and turn as much as possible to reduce straight line velocity into wall.

Immersion-breaking but you could always exit the game before hitting the wall. You'll log back in outside the station.

No, let's avoid the meta-gaming solutions. Think of this more like pilots discussing how to get out of horrible messes they find themselves in. Feel free to add your own Worst Case Scenario that you'd like to find a solution to.

Drop landing gear, this slows you down
full thrust reverse
docming thrusters to reverse
Corkscrew, this increase your travel distance and gives more time to slow down
yaw also slows your forward speed

Activate gear just outside the slot. Always. As a matter of protocol. Disables boost, so you can't accidentally boost inside station.

Prevents getting into the no escape scenario.

Activate landing gear and cargo scoop (I have no idea if the effects stack, but better safe than splat).

Full reverse on engines.

Full power to the shield.

Close eyes.

Full power SYS and put yourself into the closest wall.

If you get to the wall quick enough, your boost will burn out pushing against the immovable station and you'll only suffer the initial collision damage.

Added tips if you don't panic:
Set throttle to 0 or -10% (more to pull you back off the structure when boost is over than to counteract the forward thrust)
Drop your landing gear (limits max speed)
Disable FA to turn toward a wall quickly
