Hardware & Technical Worst joystick softwar i have ever used TARGET

Rather than just letting me configure the hardware device it creates a software joystick with the buttons mapped based on keyboard bindings. Once a button is bound the actual hardware device, no longer recognizes the button keypress.

Profiles once created, dont load.

After trying out the stick, Thrustmaster t1600m, i was impressed enough that i was thinking about buying the throttle, the config software cured me of that idea.

I thought the saitek stuff was bad, but this absolutely, hands down, wins as the worst joystick config software i have ever used.

All i wanted to do is remap the x and y curves and i guess thats not possible.

I have the Thrustmaster t1600m and the throttle and they work well.
I don't use the Target software at all, just plugged them in, calibrated them, then set up all the axis and buttons in ED.

T.A.R.G.E.T. has a little bit of a learning curve, but it is absolutley great (Talking about the script editor, not the GUI). It is based on the C programing language and with it you can do virtually anything - such as opening other applications with the press of button. Out crusing around in deep space, (especailly with VR), press a button - bingo Netlfix opens up.

Although you are using a T1600m, you might want to check out AussieDroid's Enhanced WarHog Script to get an idea what you can do with T.A.R.G.E.T

See I like my Logitech 3D because it's so dman simple. Considering buying another just to ensure I can use the model for a long time.

Using Joystic Curves (JC) myself for quite some time (and have T16000 + throttle too), ... it works perfect. Target was constantly disconnecting one from controllers (lost my ship few times due this cr*p), and it was relief when I removed it and found JC.

Yes but its 2018 and i dont want to manually program my peripherals. If im feeling nostalgic for the 90's i can always just listen to the cranberries or something.
Seriously, getting a couple of custom joystick curves should not be this hard and its just silly for them to do this kind of software emulation. Someone should send them a note about this brand new thing called plug and play.

Those are great joysticks and i bought the t1600 to replace a 3d that was getting a little erratic and had a sticky button. Those always lasted me at least 3-4 years of good use.
The thrustmaster compares well to the 3d. Its more precise and i think it will be better with fixed weapons. Im having trouble getting used to the missing 3 buttons compared to the 3d, but i have it set up so that im using both sticks. The 3d throttle and base buttons and the t1600 for pitch yaw and primary and secondary fire.
I think t1600 is probably a better combat stick because of its precision.
