Engineers Worth a shot..

Hi all, just had a thought was wondering if anyone could confirm if it is possible or not...

So as I am just about to start mass spamming mod upgrades to start my new relationships with these wonderful people :)

After a previous discussion it was advised that the best ships to fly with modules on was the anaconda/asp/adder to cover all grade sizes.

As I understand it I can transfer mods to the engineer stations just like I would any other, so with that in mind can I dock a station that has a fantastic range of mods buy them and store one of each type I want to mod, then once i arrive at my chosen engineer base i can transfer the mods, do the work and then transfer them back to wherever required to fit whichever ship size etc etc..?

Is this possible please? :)

Yes, but it has to be fitted to your ship before you can mod it. You can't mod modules that are stored.

You also can't equip 2 of the same in some cases, like powerplant, shield generator, etc.

which is no problem, because you can mod one, transfer it to storage at an engineer base, and take another one previously transfered to the engineer base.

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. :)

Np bud i seem to have a habit of typing elaborate long winded questions.. i know how it sounds in my head! :p

I have a thirst for engineer knowledge at present as just getting started, so far the parts I have collected have been from CS and missions...

do you think I should do some mining, go to planets to collect resources and lastly... take a road trip round the stations that have the engineer commodity's before I go to see the people.. overkill?? i just have ocd and when i go there I will want to do it all!!

I really need to look up what it is I want and look at the parts and then decide on course of actions as required... this is also where i am slightly confused as to the burn recipes and i guess i dont want to waste good resources on a junk upgrade..

Think i just need to dive in! altho as the saying goes... proper planning, prevents poor performance!

Just be aware that NPC pirates love the smell of the cargo / commodities you'll be carrying - depending on your appetite for interdictions, you may want to consider doing one module at a time..

Planning indeed is required. Once you have done a couple you will get the hang of how it works. The obvious starting point is felicity because everything after that is so much easier with a FSD upgrade. Commodity storage really isnt needed despite what others would say. Just get what you want when you need it. Getting it in advance will make you a target
