Newcomer / Intro Worth it with Mouse Keyboard combo?

Hello all!

I am interesting in buying this game but I am really on the fence if I am using a mouse/keyboard combo. Do people play like this or is it a real disadvantage?

I would have bought it ASAP but some of the reviews I watched said you needed a joystick.

Thanks!!!

You don't need a joystick to enjoy the game.

You do want a joystick, a microphone and some headtracking device if you want to enjoy flying a spaceship.

I've played mouse/kb combo since day 1 .... i even had a nice joystick bought me over xmas but i still haven't got around to setting it up :)

You'll be fine

There's videos preferring joysticks but there's also videos of some great flying using mouse+keyboard. It's all personal preference. Easily playable with either/both.

I just got the game myself and I've been playing it with a gamepad. Works well enough for me. Though it would be nice to try this one with a decent flight stick.

Same here. Been playing with mouse and keyboard for 6 weeks+ no problem, tried joystick and keyboard but just did not feel right.
Coming from play Mech Warrior Online and Unreal style games.

Keep in mind that you can remap pretty much everything. So if mouse left/right roll doesn't work for you, try yaw. Same with joystick axis and such, all configurable.

I started playing with just Keyboard & Mouse and it was fine.

All I had to do was tweak the defaults for the Mouse control. I changed to Roll so it was on the Keyboard, other wise I ended up all over the place.

I just use the Keyboard, old-styley. Works fine, although I am sure I would be at a disadvantage in a PvP Ninja situation
