Would ED use all threads on a 6900k cpu ?

I'm looking to upgrade my system soon. I do 3d modelling and animation too so it won't just be for gaming. I need to know if the 6900K is a good choice for both uses ?

Also, if anyone has any recommendations on a 2011 motherboard to go with this CPU that would be great.
