Would Love Partial FA off.

Just a suggestion.

I would love to have partial FA off. The ability to turn off thruster assist and keep on rotational assist would be the best of both worlds as far as I'm concerned.

Please, please.
:)

What exactly do you mean by rotational assist? Roll thrusters?

Just go full FA-off! Way more fun that way! :D

Come join the fun side!

Hello, Mal-Adjusted. :)

I'd like this too. Unfortunately, this is one of the relatively-limited number of suggestions that FD have directly answered - and that answer was a big, fat "no". As I recall, they feel everyone would switch Rotation Assist on, Thrust-Assist off and never change either one again, rendering all the work for it null and void for most players. Ah, well.

Tbh, it's pretty easy to keep control of your ship once you have a handle of basic FA-Off while enjoying most of the benefits of FA-On, just by using FA-Off as necessary. It only really gets hard if you go FA-Off full time.

Some control schemes would be much better with partial FA-off. Mine, for instance. The mouse setting that bring it back to center is nice, but it's obnoxious to use that for flying around solar systems and turning a lot.

FA-off full time is not that hard TBH. Once you have the basics down it's surprisingly easy to do.

I can't stand flying FA-on at all now.

I have been working on FA off a lot, but I keep falling back to FA on because in combat I get to yankin' and bankin' and get completely lost...and dead. ;)

Even with my sensitivity turned way down, it has been a long faught battle trying to come to grips with my rotational axis. I get along just fine with the thrusters, it's just the darn roll, pitch, and yaw that keeps sending me back to FA on.

I just thought this would be a great compromise between the two.

Follow the links on my sig below mate and come join us on our discord. We have all sorts of control method flying and a few videos of exercises etc that can help a lot with control in FA-off. :)
