I had a thought today that I think would be pretty awesome: the capability to have a second screen usable for Elite Dangerous and the in-game UI using an iPhone, iPad, or an Android device. What I am suggesting with this idea is the ability to see your right and left UI modules (Navigation, Transactions, Status, Cargo, etc.) on an iPad or something and not have to pan over in-game so we'd have the information immediately available for us to see. What do you guys think? Would this be useful? And if available, would you use it? I welcome suggestions and criticism! (I also posted this on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDanger..._you_like_to_see_second_screen_capability_in/).

EDIT: Oh, and I am well aware of the Roccat Power Grid app. I am suggesting a native implementation created by Frontier themselves.

I have a two monitor setup and it would greatly help to have sensors or another interchangeable panel (much like nowadays fighters MHDDs) on a side monitor.

Even just handling comms would be ok.

Multiple viewports from the game itself would be good, you could then put them on multiple monitors.
There are apps out there that allow iOS/Android devices to act as secondary monitors.
Native applications would be good but may cause more issues with diversity, support etc.

I just want to be able to run the galaxy map on a seperate screen but that would probably have to be a seperate networked app. Since you probably can't run the map and fly at the same time without everything grinding to a halt.

I have a 4k touchscreen notebook and tablet and I'm sure rich control would work well with the map.

The two side screen interfaces, galaxy and system maps would make ideal stand alone "screens"/"gauges" - whether those are done directly in game via separate viewports or supported via client apps.

A couple of cheap Android tablets with the side screens on, full screen, touch controlled, would be great :)

I definitely would like to see secondary screen abilities, galaxy map/system map, or maybe just one of the ui windows, or more then one of them at the sametime?
The ability to set them up? maybe split up the secondary screen in 4 parts? or more? or less? or custom? I'd love to have specific ui windows (like contacts or system view) and such sitting there.

Secondary window like.

Code:
Contacts   ||| System data
------------------------------
Galaxy Map ||| System Map

Yeah agreed this would be awesome.
