Would you pay for second CMDR on SINGLE account (shared resources)?

I don't know if this has already been asked (couldn't find a thread if it has), but...

Would you pay an additional license fee to have a second CMDR (or more) added to your single ED Account?

(Not whether you would buy a second CMDR on a second account - as we know we can already do this...)

I'm busy buffing up my second account and was thinking about how nice it would be to be able to share resources (ships/credits) from my primary account. IOW: pay a full subscription fee, but add an additional CMDR (or more) to your primary account. Only one CMDR could be used at a time, but each CMDR could exist in different locations, potentially with different faction rep and notoriety. Sharing resources and ships just like a two-cmdr "company" might. Maybe faction rep (and notoriety) should also be shared by both cmdrs (like a company).

I would pay for a second cmdr on my primary account. I would also continue to keep my second account though.

I'm not sure how this would break the game, break the ED universe, and generally result in complete destruction of all our noble principles, but I'm sure that information will ultimately be explained by more insightful folks than I. ;-)

I would, but only if I could fly them both at once (unlikely).
My main purpose for a 2nd account is to hold Thargoid and other rare cargo.

Yes definitely, more because I don't want to go through unlocking engineers again (and tharg FSD boosters) Happily start from scratch with credits and ships though., would be great if I could share assets with a second account.

Think it would be open to abuse though.

Shared resources or not, paid or not, I support the petition for multiple CMDRs under the same general user account. If paid, it could just be an option in the frontier store to purchase an additional slot. I've seen other online games do it.

Yes. Yes, I would. Sometimes you just want to chill, but if your RP is a criminal combat pilot you're not going to be left in peace to do some mining.

You can actually achieve this by setting up a second email account and simply buying another copy of the game. If you wait for a new version to be released there is often a sale, so that helps with the cost.

I don't know if this is compliant with FDEV policy though.

No. I won't pay.... should have been available from release.

I will, however- consider another game to play before I give another pence for a second savegame from Frontier.

Yeah I would pay monthly subscription for a proper server as well! :)

as far as second a second CMDR, I already have two accounts annyhow.. dont need that!

This is NOT what I'm proposing. We can already do this (and I do). This is a SECOND CMDR using a SECOND ACCOUNT. However, you can't share resources or ships by doing this.

What I'm proposing/asking about is a SECOND CMDR on your single PRIMARY ACCOUNT...

Yep count me in on this. I have 3 accounts, whilst 1 and 2 accounts are at a match with engineers, ranking etc, no 3 is going exploring as i cannot do those engineers again (Have done Farseer bint and the Wired (Wryd) chap for the explorer Orca!

If you've developed a bad name for yourself could you fly hot ships out of an area where you're wanted, then switch back again? Is it a hot ship or a hot Commander? (calm down ladies I'm here all week). More seriously, there might be C&P problems that would take some thinking through.

It could be interesting for espionage potentially, one Cmdr pledged to Mahon, your other to Delaine but I wonder if more people would be upset by that, than find it interesting gameplay.

An account that shares paintjobs but starts with a fresh save I'd pay nearly full price for though, just to save the hassle of setting up a new email and messing about at log in.

Maybe C&P could be used "appropriately". Maybe the game perceives multiple cmdrs as a single entity (company) and C&P follows the entity. Maybe hot ships/mdules stay hot regardless of who uses them. I think this could all be accommodated in some meaningful way (although we might not all agree on the end result).

Although, I think many CMDR's don't care so much about C&P as they simply RP a clean pilot. I know I don't care about C&P as I've never been wanted in the new C&P system (not even by accident). It would be a shame not to explore an option which could add a lot of gameplay just because we might not all be in agreement on some individual aspect of its implementation. Hell, this community never agrees on ANYTHING! ;-)

How about a "Hot Company"? Rather than a single CMDR being the entity under judgement, make it the entire "Company" of CMDRs which make up a single account. IOW: If you have more than a single CMDR in your account, we now treat those multiple CMDR's as a single "Company". All transgressions committed by a single CMDR are automatically assigned to the entire "Company" as they are a licensed representative of that entity. Any Hot ships owned by a Company are Hot regardless of who flies them. Once the Company is Hot all associated CMDRs are Hot as well. Keeps it pretty simple I think...

I would accept that explanation if it prevented the C&P implementation from being an overly complicated hindrance...

Really, mostly what this "Second CMDR/Single Account" accomplishes is the ability to play in multiple areas as you see fit and share resources. You could have one CMDR in Colonia and one in the Bubble. One CMDR out in the black flying as an explorer and one running missions in the Bubble. Each CMDR would maintain their own rank/status. Lesser CMDR's would not have access to ranked ships.

Lots of interesting considerations although I don't think any of them has to be overly complicated or game breaking...

ED wants you to pay for the alt accounts, or get others to join.
