I think its an awesome game..

but to maintain the serves, and the continuous development, they will need cash.
So what would you say, would you pay monthly for such an awesome game and for new features, more depth, more ships, more stations, more more more ?

i would pay for sure !

use the search function mate...this has been discussed many many many many many MANY times.

its a no.

EDIT: probably best not to ask about player owned stations and guilds either.

Again? <sighs>

Yeah, I find it surprising that so many people have literally asked for a paid subscription. In the long run I think this would mean less profit for FD, the people on the forums may want this more, but most players I'm guessing don't use the forums, and play much more casually, I think this is the demographic of consumers that would stop playing/buying the game and would turn them away from buying the expansions. Just my opinion.

a) I don't want an MMO to pay for
b) I don't want an MMO-style game at all
c) if I actually WANTED a) and b), then ED, in it's current state, wouldn't warrant a monthly price tag as it's criminally barren in terms of content

extra d) FDevs have only themselves to blame - their background simulation (aptly abbreviated "") is so simplistic that there's no reason why it wouldn't run on our systems... at worst, a few low-end laptops would be excluded (if even that)

Is it that time of the month again?!

Oh to answer the question. NO!

Why's there no poll to settle this issue definitively once and for all?

I would pay monthly to not have this thread pop up every 2 weeks.

To answer the question, no, Not enough content, terrible matchmaking, and not enough multiplayer content to be an mmo.

No, No, No, No and NO.

Another fooled that the customer OWES the developer money for SERVICES YET PROVIDED. It doesn't work that way - new content provided, then you buy it. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

I do wish I could play the game offline, but FD wanted it online so that each player contributes to the galaxy, yes on offline there would still be background simulation, but it wouldn't be influenced by the mass of players.

A big NO.
For big DLCs it depends - if we would have to get those DLCs to play the game I would drop Elite Dangerous immediately.
I would pay for DLCs if they are big enough and important enough for me.
I love Elite Dangerous but there´s no reason to pay monthly at all.

Cheers,
Robin

As mentioned. we have had multiple threads on this and at this point in time FD are not pursuing a subscription model.

Closing.
