This thread is about one thing and one thing only:

Would you rather be playing 2.1, or 2.2?

Quite simply.

This is not a thread to voice your complaints, but if you must, you may debate the issue that's up to you.

Personally, I'd rather be playing 2.1. I just posted this in another thread:

I've been playing 2.2 for a day now, and I would rather be playing 2.1.
Sure there's a lot to like in 2.2, but I particularly don't like their reducing of bounties on my (NPC) attackers, and reducing delivery mission basic rewards. That's my opinion whether you like it or not, I'm entitled to my opinion and there it is.

I just killed a bounty hunter that interdicted me. He was after me only because I killed mission targets (smugglers) in a Navy mission, to rank up. Now I am wanted in one system (and I wasn't in it). So I got interdicted, and killed the interdictor, but the bounty for him was only 400. I paid more than that to reload afterward, plus repair, plus fuel. All in all I was out about 1500cr (negative) for the incident. And that's not just a fluke, it's happened to me several times since 2.2, and the better bounties are no longer making up for them (perhaps about a wash - zero gain?).

And I have never been to Sothis or ceos (or whatever it's called), and never made those big money runs. I've just been happily running missions (after killing pirates at RES sites for the credits), and trying to get a better ship than my current Viper III. I don't like 2.2, that's my opinion, don't dis me for voicing it.

FD can re-balance pay-outs if it seems an issue for many players. If that is the OP beef then the poll is poorly worded/designed.

Rather be in 2.2, not even a contest. Bring irritants like payouts to FD's attention. It isn't like they will stop balancing and updating the game.

On how enthusiastic I am on day 2 of 2.2...half an hour browsing through here while doom finishes updating...I am underwhelmed and none too happy about them nerfing missions so hard...feels like they tried to fix something that wasn't broken. I'll go distract meself fer a few days to see if they fix it or make some excuse to say its working as intended...actually writing more than several lines is starting to feel like a grind these days...

That answer yer question? Sweet cos this update is near half done ^^

The expansion is for those that like and can fly large fleets. I think the tourism story is boring and I can't afford a ship large enough for fighter module so I feel disappointed. And Engineers is very boring, forced to farm for endless hours to get upgrades. I really don't get what are FD thinking. I was hoping to have a storage option to make engineers less painful.
The only good thing I've seen so far that I like is the improvement on graphics.
I am worried now that I am forced to do tourist missions to get materials required for engineers.

I understood that FD recognized that the prices of certain missions are bugged.
Mr. Brooks said something about this in another thread.
I hope they repair this asap, because currently many missions pay very little money and are simply not worth it anymore.

This has nothing to do with 2.2. This is normal. It happened to me all the time in 2.0/2.1 and before that too.
You killed a bounty hunter that only got a bounty for opening fire on you. He was not a pirate. In a sense he was the law, although he attacked you in a system you where not wanted in, which is what got him the small bounty.
This is what happens to you too if you attack a target that has no bounty in the system you attack him in. You will get a small bounty for opening fire and if you kill your target you will get a bigger bounty on your head for murder.

I am not dissing you for voicing your opinion, but based on your reasoning I do think your negative judgement about 2.2 has very little justification.
It is based on a) a recognized bug and b) a perfectly legit and logical mechanism that has been in the game before 2.2.

Actually I've been scanning them with a KWS before any shots are fired, and they show up as "wanted" before any shots are fired - AND most show as "wanted" even before the KWS scan. I've been running from the very few who weren't, and losing them, as long as they didn't shoot me before I get away. A couple of those remained non-hostile after the interdiction. But the vast majority of them were "wanted" and opened fire on me first. Often I wait until the KWS finishes before actively firing on them. Most of them are 300-550cr bounties (revenue) for me killing them, but I occasionally get one around 35K give or take 10K (but I think those are actually related to my current missions tho). So yeah I see your argument, but I think it's not the case.

EDIT: Also, before 2.2 I was getting thousands for these same type kills.

What big money runs? I am just back from Sothis and Ceos. Wasted several hours. Bought 20t of 'Sothis Crystalline Gold' (I did not get more) for 15K each and got 38K in Yaroklis Drake station. I got more money for the Cartography of that trip. And to travel there is a PITA. Lots of L T TT and Y stars. No scooping. And the NPC are now a really annoying. Never mind Sothis.

I am that        off over the whole thing i havn't even logged in today. I totally agree with you Halloweenweed BH is what i did until i found out about sothis a week ago. Thank god i managed to get down there and put 400 mil in the bank finally got a anaconda after a year of playing previously just to get into a python. In saying that tho i worked my     off solid 8 or more hr play days to do it. IT was time consuming had to watch your routes for fuel, interdictions and so on. I must admit it bored me at times as combat is what i love to do but was FORCED to sothis just to get anywhere. Now it seems i am being forced to go to passenger missions to make any profit at all. Which is a joke because after my 1st mission last night taking a passenger out i now have a galaxy wide bounty that i have NO idea how or why i got it. To top it all off i still cannot fly with my friends except other aussies, another broken promise from frontier multi player my    ! So yeah not happy with Elite today at all and would be more then happy to go back to 2.1 at least i got somewhere and had some money to actually go out and see the game and try some ships and fighters and such. I ask all you nerf sothis idiots was it worth taking all that away from everyone?

2.2 is what 2.1 should have been all along. It is great, IMO. So much more to do, for me anyways. Sorry OP your not enjoying it.

No, I didn't say that, nor do I want to infer it. I do like this game, it's just that before 2.2 I loved it. I now am looking at quite a grind to capital ships, and I hate grinds. I don't play to grind. I play for fun. I love it when you just go out and have fun and all the upgrades come naturally from that. I do enjoy the game, I just wish it was like it was in 2.1, when I got a thrill from the (normal mission & pirate kill) payouts. Now I am considering changing my playstyle to mining after I get my next rank in the Empire to enable me getting an Imperial Courier. The problem with that is, the game has changed and in order for me to make enough cr to get a capital ship it might be better for me to grind asteroids now. I liked it better when I was taking out (NPC) pirates for loads of credits. That said, right now I'm not entirely positive that strategy won't work well, I still have to try it after I get my IC.

Like I said in the OP, it's simply what do you like better: 2.1 or 2.2. Not saying I dislike the game now because of the changes. I am not using exaggeration tactics to try to get the devs to revert, like some others might.

My dream would be 2.2 without engineers at all (or 1.7 with planetary landings if you like that better) and with the good old interdiction difficulty and mission rewards from 2.1

2.2 without question. SLFs, better eye candy and just over all better game (just need the haulage missions fixed as well as the pirate killing missions doable in wing/slfs without failing).

2.2 ruined my way of playing the game(piracy) I prefer going back to 2.1 where i could make a living out of my chosen carrer. That and the raised UI panels have made me want to quit playing Elite for good, and maybe wait for Star Citizen to be released(if it ever will). Thank you frontier for ruining the enjoyment i had from Elite, thanks alot...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TBH SC is going to be a loooooooooong time (if ever) getting to the level of ED. It has years to catch up, given it is supposed to be feature complete by now, but is far from it.

I'm just updating 2.2, but I'll see if they've done anything with the missions. Yesterday, the level of reward for bounties seemed to be recovering.

Played 2.2 for just 2 days and lost 2 Pythons. There are no Missions to get back 20million in this time. It's all down hill and leaves us having to find out what we can still actually play at if any.
