TBH SC is going to be a loooooooooong time (if ever) getting to the level of ED. It has years to catch up, given it is supposed to be feature complete by now, but is far from it.

I'm just updating 2.2, but I'll see if they've done anything with the missions. Yesterday, the level of reward for bounties seemed to be recovering.

Not noticed anything wrong with mission payouts, but i mainly doing piracy(not mission). Th thing im talking about is the insane fast degrading of cargo that got introduced in 2.2, it blows up before having a chance to pick it up, wich means my career as a pirate has ended, so when my career in ED is not getting me anywhere, what reason do i have left to play?

SC is probably never gonna happen, but left with nothing else too do, all i can do is wait and hope it will happen so i can go back to be a space pirate again...

2.2 is such a quantum leap forward in terms of quality of life features not to mention the much improved graphics performance and frame rates for high end systems, I'm frankly surprised anyone would want to go back to 2.1. The improved Hyperspace tunnel alone is enough of a reason to never want to go back to what we had before!

In addition to all the QOF improvements and performance upgrades, 2.2 with its module storage actually gives players a true incentive to interface with the Engineers! I know I myself had very little interest in them during all of 2.1. I only started to bother upgrading my ships after playing the Betas and realizing how useful these upgrades would be if I could swap them from ship to ship using the module storage/transfer features.

Yeah... If you think 2.1 is a better version of ED than 2.2, you're nuts! I'm sorry, but you just are. ;) And the current results of the above poll clearly shows that once again, the ones with the loudest voices who are doing all of the complaining about whatever in 2.2 are a very small minority of the community AS USUAL!

And THANK GOD for that!

Are you using Collector Limpets and selective targeting to pick up your cargo? Doesn't sound like you are if you are seeing cargo disappear from a debris field. It takes a good bit of time for that to happen and I see no changes in this behavior from 2.1 to 2.2.

If you are trying to grab cargo in space manually, you're simply doing it wrong. Collector limpets and selective targeting of what they pick up is the way to do it. I've done a lot of that kind of stuff in the game and manual scooping just isn't efficient enough. Just buy a class 5 set of limpets (3 at a time is best with either a 5A or 5B module) with good range and a reasonable life span and you should easily be able to collect most hauls long before the cargo starts to degrade and despawn.

And make sure you selective target using your left hand CONTACT panel. I know some commanders still manually target materials and cargo canisters using visual ID and lock on which will take forever. Go to CONTACTS and there will be all of your cargo or materials in the debris field. Click on what you want and launch a limpet to go after it. The second the limpet is on its way you can select the next target and launch another limpet. If you want everything out there, just launch all three limpets one after the other and don't target any specific item. The limpets will then go back and forth collecting everything that is out there until they have collected it all.

Even with the nerfed max Limpet speeds, you can still collect a reasonably large amount of ship debris and/or cargo canisters before they degrade.

i was living off piracy since the game came out, bought all my ships with it, dont tell me howto reinvent the wheel. Offcourse i use limpets, who doesnt. The problem is, the ai useally fight back, sometimes it takes time too take out the ai so i can ficus on picking up the cargo, but when im done fighting all that juicy cargo has turned to space dust. It wasnt like that before.

Cant imagine this fast deteriating cargo can be good for PVP piravy, imagine you are a victim and decide to fight the pirate, he limpets your cargo, you kill him and you probabøy want to pick up your cargo again, but you cant, its gone.

All that new fancy stuff in 2.2 doesnt matter anymore for me, because i cant play anymore because frontier decided to ruin my proffesion. Thanks alot frontier!!!!!!!!!!

Can I change my vote please? 2.2.

The planets are awesome, the SLF are awesome, the tweaked lighting is awesome (just go spend some time in a ring). It's awesome!

2.2, definitely. The look and feel is a vast improvement. But a 2.2 without PP and RNGineers (time that should have been better spent implementing features other than time sinks, or pandering to certain gaming demographics). Material gathering for synthesis has piqued my interest though, especially for the FSD boost/SRV maintenance while exploring. :)

No Engineers, back to balance.

Especially no engineers for any competition related stuff (weapons, thrusters, shields). Pimping the cargo racks, scanners and landing gear is ok.

Agreed only been out few days now as always there will be hicups and bugs and the ill fated Nerfs....im sure given a bit of time they will be sorted, we are always looking at more and more content visuals and things to discover...

Absolutely loving 2.2!!!
Unlocked all the new engineers and upgraded my ships with new toys. Made a quick 100m on passenger missions just for the heck of it. Now I'm off to explore for more "mysteries" in my exploraconda which now carries a fighter bay, and 4 SRV'S all while maintaining a 56.5ly range. [big grin]

some good points. just report the bugs. the game is a work in progress. I can't do all the stuff in the game though its evolution
they change things, its not for the best sometimes. give some constructive feedback and go try something else then come back to your
favorite career path.

I did exploring then found that really boring and a took ages. then engineers hit and I could modify a ship. better jump range. not spending 3 weeks getting to colonia
just 2-3 days so gave it another go. got bored of that so did mining, confict zones, smuggling and trucking missions. now passenger missions and I find exploring exciting again so will have another go at that and 40 million to colonia with one lot of passengers for the trip and the exploration data to sell as well so will have another trip over there, then
do some mining.

Yep Passenger missions are the way to go at the moment. just sorry for all the brave cmdrs right out over the other side of the universe that can't
get some well earned credits as they are out there exploring.

10 million in 2 days and I'm a novice at passenger missions.
