As the title says. We've now been tangling with Thargoids a while. Some are surely getting a bit punched up, I've certainly left a few missing a couple hearts before having to high-tail it. And while our military ships may be poorly equipped to deal with the Thargoids, surely a Capital Ship can do enough damage to knock one about a bit?
So why don't we get some lower-threat NHSS that have some wounded Interceptors? They'd carry less of a bounty and open up Thargoid combat to a variety of more skilled players. Theorycrafting it a little you could have:
NHSS Threat Levels
Threat 2 NHSS - Cyclops w/ only 1 Heart - 200k Bond
Threat 3 NHSS - Cyclops w/ 2 Hearts or Basilisk w/ 2 hearts - 500k Bond
Threat 4 NHSS - Cyclops w/ 3 Hearts or Basilisk w/ 3 hearts - 1m Bond
Threat 5 NHSS - Full Cyclops, or Basilisk w/ 4 Hearts - 2m bond
Threat 6 NHSS - Full Basilisk - 6m credit bond
This opens up Thargoid combat to a much larger audience and skillset, and offers a steady progression chain for people to "skill up" against a growing challenge. Salvage is obviously already better for more full-grown Thargoids too, as you already get multiple drops per heart.
It also gets around the thorny issue of "suddenly introducing weaker Thargoids" when they're *meant* to be a clear and present danger. They've come, and stomped us a lot. Full Thargoid vessels are still dangerous, but we're fighting back now, there will be wounded. Surely we'd see them, and it doesn't diminish the current threat level of a full grown Thargoid.
