Wow did this just get sneaked in the latest patch...If so awesome news for pirates and bounty hunter

Not true as I was in an allied, high security system last night and dicted multiple times. All attackers were green ships and 2x were security and always took damage with long FSD when submitting in the Python.

Things have changed.

I'm sure there are oddities and bugs but nothing changed, move to another system I'm not experiencing anything like that and I'm not alone.

I saw no changes either in a Cobra, a Python or a Type-9.
Submit - standard cooldown - within 5sec you could spool-up FSD if you wanted.

I've noted alot of more "oddball" Interdictions by System Police ("This is a military Operation!" - submitted - lonely Security Eagle just flies along and away without even Scanning me or something ?!).

Number of hostile Interdictions has somewhat increased - always fun to see them freak out completely when simply backthrustering FA off while just pointing right at them.
I took 10 Minutes of testing while doing that in a Type-9 against an ELITE Eagle "Killer NPC".

Even with my Hardpoints retracted, that guy just did a defensive Airshow for me.
At times we were both simply drifting in one linear direction, with the Eagle always pointing 30deg to the side. For a full Minute, and the NPC did nothing but maintain 300m range with me pointing right at him.
Eventually got bored and I just ignored him - as soon as I showed him my six for FSDing to my Destination into the other direction - he started firing again *g*
(despite him carrying a Railgun - he never once managed to fire it. At closer distance, noting his permanent 30 degree error, I understood why - can't shoot at me if ya don't point at me m8 ....)

Do you have a rank with that faction. I used to see those but then I hit recruit and even though I'm not friendly I haven't been getting them. It's possible rep is bugged, it is for factions, mission's, bounty hunting etc., it's not far fetched that it would be for interdictions too.

In 1.2 you're going to have pirate wings too, oh the excitement.

The counterpoint to that, is having a wing of your own for defense. But really, who is going to want to fly back and forth with a trader as they do their runs?

The ones who get paid?

Are Frontier trying to kill off trade? Traders have to grind

Whereas bounty hunters and pirates just have credits coming out magically when they fart

It'll be interesting to see how rep is handled in a wing. If I'm aligned with a pirate faction and I'm escourting a trader will they ignore my wing? If that's the case it adds a lot to the game I would think, people that specialize in a region could demand higher prices for assured safety.

That said It's gonna be horrible if I have to take a rep hit to protect somone from my allies.

How's it an exploit if that's how the game works?!?

One could say the same about all kinds of broken in-game mechanics in games.

In Star Wars: The Old Republic, there was a bug where if you were playing PvP and started using a certain dance emote you were impervious to damage.
So would that not be an exploit?
I mean, it's how the game works... You use the emote and you can't get damaged.

It's in the game...

Right?

If 1.2 gets introduced in March, it'll probably be sometime in June before anyone will know for sure what's working as intended and how, what's a bug and might get fixed, and then the whole nerf/rebalance thing...

Sounds like another good time to park any ship of value and hop back into a Viper for pewpew again.

Then around July it might be safe to fly heavy iron again until 1.3

Repeat

I've been trading for a few weeks now and up to a T7. I don't get all the traders spitting their dummies because they have to sacrifice some jump range for some armaments. If you can't make a 1 jump route unless everything is D and no weapons then find a different route or suck it up and add an extra jump.

I'm running no weapons and doing a 2 jump route in some safe systems right now. I've had the odd interdiction but nothing I couldn't outrun without thinking due to the cooldown. This isn't dangerous to me, I should be on the edge of my seat when interdicted rather than finding it a minor inconvenience that adds an extra minute on my route.

Trading is all about risk vs reward. FD have said ages ago the fsd cooldown is broken and should only give no cooldown if you're interdicted by authorities so even if it was stealth changed in the last patch you've all had fair warning.

Couldn't "feel" any difference? It's not a passive bonus, but an active one. You have to activate the shield cell. In any case, I wouldn't expect an A2 cell to fully recharge your shields. Maybe 1 bar though.

Exactly, maybe an extra 3 secs with an angry viper screaming at you. Class 6 shield cell required to fully recharge i assume. No way im losing 128 cargo to a bad idea. With the speed of a T9 taken into account running only 330 cargo, it will be more cost effective to trade in a T7.

Again, might as well take T9's out of the game. Or at least commit to introducing the Panther in 1.2. At least then, those who want to trade can get on with it. The T9 only becoming a transitional box you have to risk if you want a good hauler.

Are those of you who are experiencing the long cooldown also flying Pythons? It looks like it may be isolated to just that ship...a newly inserted bug...err..."feature" perhaps?

Type 9 Lakon for me. 5 secs standard...a lot longer that that after submitting.

... no cooldown if you're interdicted by authorities ...

Truly hope that FDev's logic seems silly to you that, for some reason, an interdiction by a pirate results in a prolonged FSD cooldown but an interdiction by security is fast/normal. Err... Okay Fdev... Whatever...

Noobs wanting to learn trade routes.....
