Wow, skimmer missions are worse than they ever have been! (Feedback)

So what's my gameplay here, FD?

Since we no longer have dynamic POIs, I no longer have an "area" to look in to find the target skimmers. Instead, I have two options:
  1. Go to the target settlement, which will have max one or two skimmers spawned at a time.
  2. Go to random horizons POIs around the system, hoping that one of them spawns the correct target skimmers. 4 skimmers, if I find them.
So in either case, I have two options. After killing the target skimmers I can....
  1. Jump back into supercruise, then come back and kill the skimmers again until I have killed the required amount
  2. Relog, and kill the skimmers again until I have killed the required amount
Now, keep in mind that if I choose a combination of options 1 and 1 above, I have to approach, glide, land, disembark, kill the one or two skimmers, reboard, take off, break mass-lock, wake, turn around, and do the whole thing over again.

This is not gameplay.

This is my solution.

Another POI, another group of non-mission target skimmers.
Keep in mind that Belaako for Equality owns almost the entire damn Aong system, so as I fly around looking for my target skimmers, it's going to be like finding a needle in a haystack.

If and when I do find them, you bet your ass I am going to relog to finish my mission. Again, this isn't "gameplay", it's just me applying my own workaround to combat terrible game design.

Instead of subjecting the player to this, why don't you do these like ship massacre missions? For example, you could spawn one-time use mission POIs around the system that spawn about four skimmers a piece, and the player can just go to those mission POIs one after the other? Leave the mission POI, it disappears and another one spawns elsewhere. Same way you do signal sources when you ask me to go kill civilians. Even better, spawn them all on the same planet, that way you aren't having the player do 350k Ls trips from POI to POI.

Cross your fingers, boys!
I only had to reboard, break drop altitude, escape the gravity well, re-align, re-drop, re-glide....x
It has only been, what... 50 minutes since I started this (what should be a) very simple mission?

This has to be the one. I just know it...

This is why they force mission USS for such missions in space. They just forgot to do the same on planets, making targets with low INF nothing but aggravating.
Yeah, I made that suggestion in my amendment to the OP.

The mission is stupidly designed in the first place.

"Kill X random skimmers"

Yeah, that'll learn em!

No... no no...

"Remove the skimmers defending (insert faction asset of note, or drugs smuggling drop point, or crashed ship) we need to get (insert something the faction giving the mission want) and these skimmers are in the way of our operative."

Not, kill any old skimmer... it's just dumb.

This could be it, boys!
(Nope, not it)
What are we going on... 65 minutes now?

Obvious solution is obvious. Just do a bunch of influence missions for the Aong guys, until they're back as the dominant faction. Then complete your skimmer mission. Easypeasy

And yes, just in case, this is sarcasm.

I might be able to pull it off, just in the nick of time...
