wow the asp is bigger than I thought

.. and I approve.

top center: what can only be my Beloved Asp, looks to be roomy and capable enough for my exploration goals. We shall see.

So, In this size comparison I see all the beta ships except the Type-9, and maybe the anaconda...

What do you think some of those others are? (I had a keen eye out for the Imperial Courier)

PS: top left- Python? or Boa?

I'm not certain if that is to scale. Cos some of the other ships would be smaller than I thought.

Still not sure what 2 and 6 are.

And 8 and 10 is kind of confusing as both seem to be the hauler :)

Its pretty much canon, being ripped from the latest newsletter itself.

And the engineering style gradient graph background sort of screams "to scale"

I'n not sure I like the winglets though.. it sort of hints atmospheric flight, yet no such ability will be doable at launch. what a tease :(

If it is to scale then it's interesting to see that, from above, the Cobra MkIII fits pretty much perfectly onto the front section of the Asp.

It would be nice if one of the awesome but overworked and probably underpaid but much appreciated dev team could pop in and name these for us, just to put us out of our misery like.

The Asp was always a bigger ship. Started out as a Federation heavy fighter and was later converted for civilian use. In Frontier it and the Constrictor were the first ships that requires additional crew to fly so it makes sense for it to be a little bigger than most ships. I love my Cobra but I'll keep an Asp in the back pocket.

I like the one on the top left...whatever that is

Maybe you'll like these:

And yet.. still no name for it!

moar!

uh.. what did that say?

Ahh. yeah, what he said. Some people can just put the urgency of the NEED across so much better.

So yeah, MOAR of this, that, the other things, and the things we dont know about yet. (!!)

So looking forward to trying out the Asp. No reason to expect it to be in Beta 2 but I'm hoping we'll see a few more ships and it will be one of them.

The name game

Yup. The Asp Explorer has almost the same frontal footprint as the Cobra Mrk. III, but with a boot/trunk.:)

Can't wait to get my hands on one. I've loved them since Elite 2: Frontier.
