Took my fully kitted Vulture into an Anarchy High Res Field last night with 3t of illegal trade data and some rares on board. Dropped out of SC and was scanned by a lawless wing of 4 who broadcasted locally that they had hit the mother load! Suddenly every ship (about 15) on the scanner turn red and I am blasted from all directions.
Escaped with 35% hull left. Great fun. Thank you FD
You're lucky! An enemy NPC Anaconda knocked out the Thrusters of my Vulture (which has Military Grade Composite bulkheads and maximum extra hull plating) when my Vulture was at 80% hull, and then the Anaconda promptly blew up my ship! That unpleasant experience taught me just how freaking useless hull armour is in this computer game! Too bad that I lost about 3 million credits in unclaimed bounties from that situation!
The best experience that I have encountered in this computer game so far was when I inspected a Strong Signal Source near the Nav Beacon of Sol. I saw heaps of canisters containing gold just sitting there for the taking! I greedily activated my cargo scoop and was in the process of trying to scoop up a canister when I saw on the comms channel a pilot say "I can't believe that actually worked!". My radar was suddenly full of ship contacts. I suddenly realized that I had been duped into a well-laid trap! I abandoned my attempt to scoop up the gold and then began circling the new ship contacts trying to assay my opposition. I quickly realized that there were 6 enemy Vultures. I hastily made a retreat and managed to escape. That was an adrenaline rush! Whoever created that scenario deserves a pay rise. I wish that there were more superb, interactive scenarios like that in this computer game! Quite a long time ago, I remember seeing an official trailer for this computer game where a Federal Capital Ship sends out an emergency distress call requesting assistance from nearby players, and player mercenaries respond by travelling to the Federal Capital Ship and defeating the enemy fighter wing, and then the Federal Navy automatically transacts a monetary reward to the player's ship's computer. Why can't that scenario be in this computer game already?
