WOW !!!!

I've been bounty Hunting with my Cobra, trying to work up enough CR for a Vulture. My plan was to have enough to get most of the upgrades for it also (weapons, power, shields ect.) I had just under 8 mill CR and I figured I needed about 15-20 Mill CR. Well I went ahead and got a "stock" one with just the upgrades to the weapons ( I couldn't wait).
All I have to say is WOW!!!!!! what a difference. I've read in the forums about Bounty Hunting for 1 mill CR an hour of more in RES zones. With the Cobra If I earned 600,000 I was doing good. I took the Vulture out and in less than an hour I had 1.6 mill CR. And not even a scratch on her (remember bone stock except weapons). I cant wait till I can get her full upgraded. I was taking on Anacondas 1 on 1 and melting them down in no time. With the Cobra I had to wait till some of the local boys started on one or I would get chewed up. The only thing I can say is she sure is a power hungry beast.

Cool. What's your loadout?
I have a C3 beam laser & C3 cannon on mine. (with obvious FSD, power and shield upgrades)

I have 2 3E pulse lasers. and just upgraded the power supply and distributor to "A" grade (and put a KWS on her). I have each Laser set to their own trigger to lower power consumption. when I want to unload on a target I open up with both, but to chew away shields I rotate between right and left. On the bigger ships I set the Target to their power supply. It's almost like cheating.

Yeah, I tried out a Vulture on the way to getting an Asp. I've got the Asp but I'm not really feeling it. Partly it needs quite a bit of upgrading probably but I also miss the Vulture I think. Very nice ship. I'm back in my Cobey now and thankfully I still love that. I kept the Sidey and Cobra but part-exed the Vulture for the Asp. Hmm.

Yeah, fan of the Vult as well. KWS helps quite a bit in maximizing the income.

Isn't she loooooovely....

Made 2.3mil from a RES in just over an hour last night.

My FdL laughs in the face of your eyesore vultures :D

Wow... I only thought you could search for stars or planets, not stations. Thanks for the info, sorry for the stupid question! :D

I got rid of the Vulture and went back to the Cobra. I didn't much like the power juggling game you have to play on the Vulture when the Cobra can be fitted with all A Rated gear and still have power to spare.

Really won't notice much of an improvement through upgrading it. Obviously it will improve it, but nothing near like going from a cobra to the vulture.

Yer its a bit like going from "overkill extreme" to "overkill extreme+".

RES zones are a bit like fishing with dynamite..

Try Conflict/War Zone [High Intensity ] next, it will be a little more challenging blowing up those Elite rank NPCs; still only mosquito bites to a Vulture though. Dat shield :D

An A rated Cobra doesn't come close to the Vulture. The only reason the Cobra is better is top speed (and even then only if specced out for low weight) and being able to do more things than just fighting.

If fighting isn't the only thing you want to do then you're better off. Otherwise, it's trivial to equip a Vulture to dominate a Cobra in combat. But I suppose some find two hard points less fun than four and better isn't necessarily more fun.

Yep, this. The Cobra is a great all purpose ship (as it is intended to be) if you want to do a bit of everything at low/medium level, but as a dedicated fighter the Vulture eats it for breakfast.

The Vulture's only limitation is lack of flexibility - it makes a wonderful heavy fighter, but if you try to equip it for anything else you need to make compromises that take its edge away. Twin 3C beam lasers are adorable
