Wreaken Construction

Wreaken is a past participle of Wreak, the definition of Wreak is as follows:

verb
  • Wreak is to cause or inflict damage, harm or revenge.
    When you cause significant damage, this is an example of a time when you wreak havoc.

[h=2]wreak[/h]
  • to give vent or free play to (one's anger, malice, rage, etc.)
  • to inflict (vengeance), cause (harm or havoc), etc.
  • Archaic to avenge

Wreaken Construction is a highly clandestine company probably (although not confirmed) a subsidiary of Sirius Corp.

I'll just leave that definition there and let you decide what there business could be in Barnards Loop and the Col 70 sector...

To wreck and to wreak are two different things of course:

Wreak means inflict vengeance, to cause harm, to unleash anger. Wreak is a verb, related words are wreaks, wreaked, wreaking, wreaker. Wreak comes from the Old English word wrecan, which means to avenge, to punish. Wreak is pronounced with a long e sound.

Wreck means to cause or be involved in the destruction of something, to spoil or damage something or be involved in spoiling or damaging something. Wreck may be used as a noun or a verb, related terms are wrecks, wrecked, wrecking. Wreck is derived from the Anglo-Norman French word, wrec. Wreck is pronounced with a short e sound.

Wreaken Construction and Mining is, like Sirius Corp and Vega Line, a lore corporation from the earlier games. They were mentioned in the FFE Gazetteer for the Zearla system, which was listed as their head office. To quote the book:

...Wreaken Construction and Mining, the most prosperous of the independent mining and development companies which work at the edge of the Federation. Employing over a quarter of a million full time staff and owning sole mineral rights to some forty-nine planets, the Wreaken company can be found throughout most of the frontier and Federation worlds.

I would assume "Wreaken" is the founder's surname.
