In keeping with more immersion as well as BGS, It would be nice to have a system dedicated to space salvage for example.
All wreckage floats around in space supposedly being draw to gravity wells of planets stars etc.
So why not have a planet ring system dedicated to wreckage much like a asteroid belt but made from wrecked ships, cargo cannisters, materials and more...
In the midst of the wreckage belt a salvage station much like the asteroid stations but made from wreckage lumps of old ships etc.
This would form a new credit based form of game play, Scavenge & Salvage market, players can enter these wreckage belts to find parts, cargo, material, and other surprises pirate attacks, wreckage mining type zones to plunder, and sell on in the black market or material brokers dotted about.
Basically all the mechanics are their in game it would just need a few visuals and some new scenarios etc to implement.
With the amount of wreckage available in game why not make it a viable source of income (the scavenger)
Also with Thargoid incursions coming soon, this would afford this opportunity for systems stations that are damaged a direct link in both sourcing new repair commodities as well as if the damaged station remains so that it to would become a permanent wreckage site & danger area for cmdrs.
For Example:
Station gets attacked> it's not repaired it's abandoned by players> system goes into disrepair> station collapses> system becomes a high risk pirate and anarchy state> wreckage & dust fields now form for players to plunder black market and salvage missions.
This entire process has it's own time line of stations breaking down etc, with the asteroid wreckage belts perhaps this can be implemented into the Thargoid incursion in some way, forming a new immersive gameplay for players using the VAST debris field that a wrecked station can create, like flying through asteroids but Wreckage, with plenty to salvage & scavenge at the same time.
