this is a question to the authors.

not including yourselves there are over 240 people that have officialy named planets and stations.
would it add to the continuity of your books if you were to include these planet and station names to your books?
or are you content with not having to add such locations to your storys?

not an official author myself but if people want to fill up a thread with the names they submitted i'm all for it, cant say what anyone else would think as pledged authors may already have/be getting access to the planetary database as it is built as part of the writers pack.


keep in mind the locations of systems are still going to remain unknown so while references may be made to planets/systems/stations ect it's difficult to plot a coarse to one so a visit is probably out of the question.

setting the whole book there is also out as you wont know the TYPE of planet, be it Agro, indust. or a combo and that's before you get to tech level and the rest.

yup, and makes planet hopping in fiction a placeholder filled pain with SYS1NAME & STAR1NAME everywhere.

I'm taking the easy route and having my characters avoid where possible inhabited systems, less to rename then

At the moment I'm using placeholder names or system names from the Frontier starmap (which has likely changed). Once we've received more guidance from Michael I can fit it into the real E: D universe.
