WTB Mining Small Craft

Quite simply as the the title reads.

Every one of the ship launch small craft are fighters. I feel this is a wasted opportunity.

Now imagine if a very large mining ship like a Type 9 or 10 could equip a ship launched craft with seismic charges or sub surface missiles? Something speedy that could zoom around a rock when your big ship struggles to do so.

Wouldn't that be awesome? Not to mention so so damn easy to implement? After all, just replace a beam laser with one of those and poof, instant mining craft.

Nothing new here. We’ve been after non-Combat ship launched ships since the first ship launched ships.

Variations on this have included Repair Limpet-equipped ship launched ships and cargo-capable ship launched ships, as well as nearly every other iteration.

At LEAST they put Composition Scanners on fighters, which are much easier to fly around planets, especially those with a gravity greater then 1.5, as large ships tend to have trouble staying still.

Equally desirable would be the ability to engage fighter landing gear.

Just give people mining limpits.

Limpets are expended on use. You'd quickly run out if you had to use one for every deposit and every attempt to drill or drop a seismic charge.
