Hardware & Technical X-52 PRO Problem

my problem is this, the Y-rotation (the dial around the "E" button on the throttle) is not working properly, mechanically the dial turns just fine with no problem, but in game ( i use it to switch between the right and left side panels ) it turns to the right panel on its own, im not even touching the dial when this happens.

when im looking at the x-52 controll panel where you apply the deadzones, the little red needle under "Y-rotation" moves on its own, its creeping slowly to the left until it comes outside the deadzone and makes the in game view switch to the right side panel. and its really annoying.

i have googled for a few hours now and found nothing about this specific issue, ive tied updating the software and drivers and have the latest of both now, but it has not fixed the issue. does anyone have an idea what the hell is wrong?

I take it the dial is in its dead centre? There's a little dip that you can feel when its centred. I don't use that dial myself but what does the configuration show when you're testing? If it still shows movement in the dial then the dial is at fault. Can you get to it to clean it? Is the throttle still under warranty? Finally what does the book of words say about it (google / you tube, etc.)?

V2k.

the dial is in the dead centre, ive tried moving it slightly to either side to see if that helped but it didnt. i cant get the dial out to clean it, its way to complex inside that thing. and i dont have a warranty. i havent found any info on this anywhere... im guessing im screwed.

Can't you just make the dead zone larger or does it creep all the way to the extreme?

yes, you should be able to fix this by right clicking the icon in system tray and choose control panel.

find the deadzone tab and open it up in the center to your liking.

Hi there,

I had a similar issue on my X52 : the 2 dials on the throttle were randomly going to full direction once in a while, and were very erratic in behaviour. As I had my vertical and horizontal thrusters mapped on it, you could imagine the hassle when trying to land smoothly...

If the problem you have is similar (it seems so based on your description), I fixed mine by opening the throttle and cleaning the 2 potentiometers. Apparently, if there is a spec of dust on these, they start to be very glitchy. So basically, try to access the potentiometer, and use a can of aerosol duster, it should help a lot.

Cheers,

CMDR Poulpe

Edit: just read your second post, if you have some trouble opening your throttle there is a tutorial here that seem to cover the issue and explain how to open it (granted, it's for the x52, but I think they are pretty similar - if not the same internally) :

You can map two controls to each parameter in the controls settings. Have a look at the second one to see if something other than the rotational is controlling it. If there is, change it.
