X-55 Throttle Issues

I kind of like the resistance in the throttle, just makes it feel very smooth and high quality. I keep mine at about 25% resistance or so. My only issue is the button feature on the top trim sticks. I wouldn't use it anyways, so I'm not concerned with it. I wish it had longer cables, though. I was using a usb hub to make it reach the computer and it would cause horrible ghosting. Ended up buying a couple usb extension cables. For the money, I think it's the best stick you can get. I just can't bring myself to drop 500 bucks on the warthog. I'm sure it's suberb quality, but the lack of rudder control on the stick is a deal breaker for me. I just don't have any interest in having to use rudder pedals.

Yeah the warthog is above my pay grade. The rhino makes me fly like a semi-crippled hamster, rather than a fully-crippled dung beetle. So I'll take what I can get :)

Hello all.

Sorry, no pics, as I was a bit in a hurry...

I bought a X55 rhino and found it very very hard handle. But, if I move quickly the throttle, it tend to be pleasant to move, for a few seconds. I suspected Saitek grease.

So : You can unscrew everything underneath, I don't think it will void your warranty, as no stickers are damaged.
then, on the bottom part, you will find a piece maintained with 3 screws, with a very very sticky grease on it (hard to make go away from your hands...).

I just removed the part and reassemble my throttle. it is now very nice and easy to move along.

You can also try to remove the sticky grease and replace it with a good one, if you think be in need of more tension.
