X marks the spot

So im out doing my 5k jumps for palin, and i have come across a x marking what appears to be nothing on the system map, anyone able to tell me what this is? its at the end of one of the lines that runs from planet to planet.

Hmm i dont not know what youre talking about. You got an empty system map ? Do you have a screenshot of your X ? Could it be crossing orbital lines of the stars in that system which you cant honkscan, because you dont have an advanced discovery scanner?

no i have advanced scanner, and no its not a empty system map, there are planets, there is also line that runs from one planet to another, at the end of one of these lines is a x. i have not seen this any where else, nvm i will check it out on my way back as i have book marked it.

Ah you mean something like this X---O----O (tho Os are planets) ?

Thats normal, but hard to explain for a non native-english speaker :) its the spot on which the planets are hooked by gravitation in a binary system. Hope my explantion doesnt confuse due to lack of english skills :)

Assuming you mean an x like this

then, as above, it means that the planets are orbiting both stars. The X marks the centre of gravity (or barycentre) of the stars and the planets are shown orbiting that to indicate that they are orbiting both stars and not one or the other.
