X Rebirth VR just released...what now?

Got this yesterday really enjoying it. Ive grinded myself out of elite for now. Logged in for the first time in 18 months not knowing what to do and realised i need a break.

Going to play rebirth until 2.4 drops. It has so much elite doesnt but then elite has so much rebirth doesnt either way its a great game


It has full HOTAS support, doesn't it? I see people talking about using the Vive controllers trackpad to fly, and the tone is one of being stuck with them.
 
I actually quite like X Rebirth (none VR unfortunately) if it was released initially in the state it was in now I dare say it would have made a much better impression. It's still not perfect (no X game has ever been perfect) & I will genuinely punch the main voice actor guy in the face if I ever meet him I'll show him my bloody wares right in the bloody kisser! But other than that & really boring space legs I actually quite enjoy my time with it...

Until I boot up literally any other X game...
 
Played X3 to death. Loved my monster production sectors that lagged even my top notch PC almost to a standstill. Wish I could have my Vidar here in Elite. :)

I was bought rebirth as a birthday gift and nearly cried at how bad it was.

I'll never go back.
 
The long awaited X Rebirth VR has been released today, just a few hours ago. The trailer looks very good and the few reviews so far are positive (Steam).

Available in 'early access' for Oculus at £29 on Oculus Store, £35 on Steam that is supporting Vive. Multiple controllers are supported, including HOTAS.

The reason for posting it here is that Rebirth VR represents the first real competition for ED. XRBVR uses the Vulcan engine which gives graphics a kind of Skyrim look imo. However, there seems to be tons to do, the scenes are massive - everything is huge - and of course, there is the fight, trade, build your own ships, create an empire, etc.

Obviously different to ED but, seemingly, well thought out - and there is a real tutorial. The developers have clearly learned from ED's success but have managed to build a real alternative/crossover with ED.

More when I've played it for a while.

Well........have they fixed npc models?.......because if not......its a horror game.

It is the same game, just different engine, vulkan based, which really is frustrating that normal version people aren't getting their hands :(

I'm completely happy to be told that I'm mistaken, because I haven't played it, but the evidence has to be greater than the above [edit: sorry for the big post, these were literally the salient points I found when investigating the game for myself, earlier, so I knew exactly where to grab them :) ]
