x-simulator vs sim commander

Hey folks,

anyone dipped in to X-Simulator?

from my understanding its free? and here it is already supported for elite dangerous. (for moving cockpit's or buttkickers i presume)

http://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/categories/downloads.1/

Anyone run it, tried it?

is it actually free?

On another note, I have sim commander 3 trial running and playing with it.
I cant find a sim commander 4 to test out.

Can someone send me a link or a copy of it to try out?

Still deciding if I should buy sim commander or not. certainly not worth the $$ if x-simulator is free and immediately supports ED!

Not too sure about the Xsim but the link you posted just started a new project for me. damn this game..when does it stop!!??

IT never ends!

so sim tools (x-simulator) is free, but the plug in for ED costs community points or $$

so basically you become a forum member and contribute you get it..eventually..., or you pay $...kinda silly.

if anyone has any of this stuff let us know if worth it/share your plug ins!

So i cracked and purchased SimCommander, WOW what a difference!
I mean wholey crap!

I tuned the f40 in assetto corsa and had the longest vr session to date.
It was way too real. Each gear shift, each bump on the road, everything was there!

DEV's you really really need to work with the people at Sim Experience.

The potential for ED and simvibe or full motion is there. X-Sim have already ported ED for motion rigs *(not vibe though...)

Imagine an accurate throttle up and down pattern, similar to the car RPM telemetry through the game. Boost vibrations, weapons fire, etc...
Apparently they are a breeze to work with and this stuff isnt very hard to do

the non sim commander experience is lacking, it just takes the basic sound outputs. so a lot is left out.

it's sim ibe... sim commander is different and is software suite for their accuforce wheels among some other things...but the actual transducer software is simvibe

sim commander lite is what they call "SimVibe" now a days

you actually use the setup file from Sim Commander 3 or 4 and then you install your license. From that license it determines what access level you have on the software.

but the point of your post was??

Shame they won't add E:D support. I asked them to contact Frontier after the post on this forum from the devs for new feature and API requests. Nada from them. Nothing, nout.

to make sure people know when they go to the site... it's called simvibe..... no need for you to question me.

berney the owner already said they would consider it based on feedback.

i take it you dont have it right?

just surprised at your post and its "usefulness"

ill say again, the software is all the same. your license dictates what features of the sim commander are turned on or off.

there is no simvibe...

from the pdf install guide
http://simxperience.com/Portals/0/Files/SimVibe/SimVibe Setup Guide.pdf

Installing Sim Commander 3 with

SimVibe
1)Obtain a copy of Sim Commander 3 Lite Edition and a License Key from SimXperience.com
2)Run Setup.exe
3)Run Sim Commander 3 Lite
4)Install your license code (This is important! SimVibe features will not be available unless a
corresponding license code has been installed. Do not install as a trial version!)
5)Select your simulator type. If you do not have a motion simulator, this will be ‘Motionless
Cockpit’.
6)Enable your chosen SimVibe Modes and assign the corresponding sound cards to them.
7)Finish the setup wizard
8)Default SimVibe ‘Sim Setups’ have been created for each game that was detected in its default
location. Simply double

no simvibe? you can't read? it's called simvibe right on the site and in the instructions! it's the name of the module regardless of simcommander...the module is called simvibe lol

and yes I have it.

what are you trying to prove and why you trying to argue over something so silly? everyone on sim racing calls it simvibe too. either way it's same thing and the actual module and mode is called simvibe.

easy turbo, you started this with your "helpful" post.
when you purchased, you download sim commander and then your license dictated you only get privelage to feature set x or feature set y. like it states there

the end, mods feel free to close this tripe

SimVibe / Sim Commander - whatever it is called - Berney is the man.

If you have the above mentioned software, pop over to the forums (private for owners) and make a post - I have done a couple.

SimVibe with IRacing, RBR, AC etc etc with my 4 transducer setup and DK2 is brilliant.

It is tragic that no support exists for ED and SV / SC3 / SC4 at the moment.

Nosh

Update from them, hopefully the mods can pass this info along

""
They (FD) still haven't added any motion support to the game. They keep changing all the memory addresses every time they bring out an update so you can't even do a memory hook reliably without having to rewrite the plugin every few weeks when they bring out a new update.

We really need to make some noise on the ED forums about this because it is the only way that they will add motion support for it.

Sim Commander can only support a game if they provide some kind of motion or telemetry API.""

Just playing devil's advocate here...

I have and love simvibe for use with iracing. I would love to see simvibe support ED at some point but in the meantime, I just run my transducer amp directly from audio instead of through simvibe and added a low pass filter to keep most of the high frequencies from the amp. It is great!

I would love to see motion available, but... (and here's my devil's advocate hat on) if there is no gravity in space, would we be tossed about our cockpits due to banking or throttling up and down to even make motion an issue?

Yes of course it would, why would you think otherwise? :) G forces are caused by changes in velocity. Doesn't matter if you are in space or on a planet.
