X3 Reunion, X3 Terran Conflict, or both?

The X series is amazing! I recommend them all but stay away from X: Rebirth! Now someone today said they have patched it and it's a great game, but the problem is just like ED is experience that once you screw it up the first time, people like me are very hesitant to come back. Trust me I really want to try it again, but I am not paying 50 bucks to be let down again. (I got a refund from STEAM because it was so bad).
The thing is, much like ED, the fans basically rushed the development team, and they released a game that wasn't quite up to their standards, under fear of losing people. A Year after it was released, it has become a great game, though still straying from the original X-Series roots (Single Ship, more defined story). But definitely worth it now.
But X3: Terran Conflict is your best bet, comes with most(all?) of the DLC(Think of a GotY Edition). I was lucky and picked a physical copy in a Dollar Store! Sank many many hours into it.

Must admit i loved all the X games. BUT like acroyer7907 very disappointed with X rebirth... The good thing with the X series of games you could build different space stations, put the wrong 1 in the wrong place you lost loads of money BUT put the right 1 in the right place you kept making loads of money. But if your going too pick 1 X3 Terran Conflict.
Terran conflict is my shout, I prefer it because it is more of a sandbox where you can forge your own path, whereas AP has lots of racial wars going on, which can dictate your game a little bit.
There are plenty of mods, I usually go with one of the big overhauls mods, but they do make the game a lot harder, so its maybe best to start without them.
Fantastic game though, pirating, trading, bounty hunting all of these professions are a lot of fun and there are so many ship so to choose from, the galaxy is very much alive with a fully functioning economy.

Terran Conflict or AP.
I liked the X games. I always had one problem though: At some point you have earned enough to have a small fleet of automated traders. Then it basically just becomes a waiting game. Just wait for the money, build more traders, build stations, and wait more for more cr/hour. Until that point i enjoyed the game a lot!

Thats when you can start to build a fleet to wage war on a faction/race, you want to be able to afford some of the really big ships.
