X52 Default Key Bindings what is B32?

Hey all,

What is X52B32 (default X52 mapping for toggling flight assist on/off).

This may be a silly question given that I've been using X52 with Elite for years, but I had set up custom bindings with my X52 through all that time. Recently I had to reset my computer and forgot to back up my key bindings.

As such, I have now reverted to the standard bindings. In a way this is nice as the controls for exploration are now mapped to Frontier recommendations, whereas when that first came out, they were all blank for me. However, the default bindings seem to include a lot of buttons with high numbers like "X52B32" and so on.

I don't have 32 buttons on the stick and the terminology doesn't coincide neither with the labels on the stick and throttle, nor with the terminology in the X52 programming app.

I also can't seem to find the user manual - I found some posts that it's in the software/driver install folder but I couldn't find it there either.

This is probably going to be one of those things that's totally obvious once you tell me but I can't seem to figure it out!

on back of throttle.. the thingy clicks in not just up and down

While we're discussing that, does anyone know how to get X52B31 (throttle mouse button 1) to work correctly to switch between analysis/combat mode as per the default bindings?

On my stick it is behaving as a mouse 1 / fire button even though it shows as B31 in the "game controller" screen in windows.

Update: Strangely, what I've now found is that I had to uninstall the X52 app from the windows settings apps. Once I got rid of the X52 app, the B31 and B32 start working the say they are supposed to work according to the ED bindings - seems like when you have that app installed, windows sees those buttons as an actual mouse and therefore it overrules the key bindings.

You have to set them to "fall thru" or something in the profiler if you want the action to pass to the game. If you do that you get another analog stick to play with, but that nub is very hard to use for much.

What I found out in the meantime is that for me at least, if I want to use B31 and B32 in game, I have to have the "Game controller properties" window open in the background whilst running ED. If I don't, those buttons act as mouse buttons instead.

If I don't do that, I have to program a profile in the X52 software to route those buttons to a keypress. At least one other person told me that they have the same issue.
