X52 Hotus, "i" boost not working

was hoping to find a thread similar but not luck when I searched. Got a windows 10 64 bit, playing through Steam, just transferred from PS a few days prior. Everything seemed to be working fine but I login yesterday and the "i" button on the hotus is not working with the game. Checked with devices and the button is registering and working, went to programing as well and it is picking it up.
I set it back to mouse and keyboard and then back to x52, tried binding "i" to other actions but the game is not picking it up. Any suggestions?

I think I had a similar issue with the "i" button.

I changed boost to the thumb slider on the throttle and that works much better.

Device isn't getting enough power, try another USB port or a powered USB hub.

Just checked with the x52 I have and the i button is being seen by the game and by default is assigned to Boost Engines

When I go to change another bind and set it to the i key the game informs me it's already assigned to Engine Boost

Can confirm that the i button does normally work for boost as i also have that set and working. As Useless stated try another usb port or powered hub to start with and if that doesnt work let us know.

iirc there was a weird issue with my x52 way way back when i got it and i had to disable clutch mode on the clutch button for the i button to work properly.

To solve various "buttons not working" issues, I have been opening the control panel applet for the X-52 and then just leaving it open while I play.

Yes this. I always open this up before I start playing Elite. I've pinned the Devices and Printers section to the start menu next to the Elite Launcher.

I can open the HOTAS properties before the Launcher loads in, so it's not really any hassle.

The i button does clearly work, and is recognised setting controls but if I don't have that control panel open then it's never recognised while playing the game itself.
