Hardware & Technical x52 lubrication.

Mine used to squeak and creak like crazy and it drove me mad. I tried over a dozen different things until someone told me the solution.

Buy a chap stick, for putting on your lips when it's cold out, rub that on and bingo.. No squeak or creak and as much as I thought it was a joke at first, I did try it and wow.. It worked instantly. :)

After several weeks of my X52 slowly getting more and more squeaky on the joystick movement, I finally started to look for solutions.

I tried out the "chapstick" solution and placed a small amount around the metal shaft under the collar and spring. The stick was instantly quiet and became so smooth that I was genuinely surprised.

Thanks to S.H.A.D.O & Steve50 for suggesting this, it worked a treat with no more squeaks !!!

WD40 is electrically conductive

er, that's why it is used to clean electric parts..er..are you sure about that..?

WD40 is fine with joysticks etc. Works great.

(but I read somewhere that WD40 kills all wildlife, rots your teeth and is highly radioactive - oh, it also gives you bad breath and ruins long term relationships.)

pps The WD40 company is also owned by members of the illuminati.

Just to bump this thread for the sticky/noisy X52 non pro joy stick (I tried the chap stick fix and it worked perfectly, also saw this on another flight sim thread, it last a long time with no plastic deterioration or harm, stick working for 8 years now) Just a light application with a cotton swab on the metal shaft where the plastic disk moves up and down. Amazing !!
