I haven't played a game with a flight stick since XWing alliance back in the early 2000s and have no clue how to set it up for optimal use. Any advice would be appreciated. I tried to do a search for helpful posts but I apparently don't have that privilege yet.

An optimal layout really depends on the person playing... you're best of getting a list of all the configurable controls, and deciding yourself where these things should be for your own comfort.
