Hardware & Technical X52 Pro flight stick wont map axis

I can not use the throttle or the stick at all. Buttons work fine. No matter how many times I "move the axis I wish to map" nothing happens. I have un-installed the game, the drivers, everything in the world. I have tried the stick with a different game, it works fine.

It is just Elite that doesn't work and I am nearing the end of even bothering to try.

Install in order

1. Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_7_0_27_13_x64_Drivers.exe
2. SST_Software_64_6_6_6_9.exe

I would generally recommend against installing the programming software at all. The drivers are usually enough.

Can you see the joystick and throttle in Control panel 'Devices and Printers' if so, you can right click and get to 'game controller settings' and then test all the functions in [Properties] for each device.

Other things that have been mentioned before,
Some devices work better in USB2 ports rather than usb3.
Windows getting confused at boot time and mis-identifying or swapping devices. Try booting with devices unplugged and then plug joystick in first.
