Horizons X52 Pro issue...

Hey all,

Anyone using the X52 Pro have an issue where the throttle won't go back into the fully "off" position?

When I auto dock I gotta hold the throttle back until I hit the pad?

Any ideas to fix this? (Apologies mods if this is in the wrong place!!)

Thanks

Andy

You may have dislodged the detent inside. If it’s in warranty, send it back. If not - take the bottom off and pull out the detent block, which is covered in some very nasty goop.

I did that as well, and it's absolutely smooth and awesome now. Also practically zero chance of damaging anything. It's a blob of stuff glued to the plastic part of the bottom.
Also configure a small deadzone for the throttle axis. That way the zero throttle range is a bit higher and you won't speed up as soon as it moves a milimeter.

Should you not know how to do this:

in Win10 go to start menu, settings, devices, devices and printers (on the right), right click the hotas icon and choose "game controller settings", choose hotas and click properties.

There's a header for deadzones and other stuff. While you're here you can also disable the clutch button (MFD header) to be able to bind the button for other things in the game, and adjust led brightness and colours.

The little plastic walled box that holds the detent will be broken. You can repair it by pushing the walls back square again, then fill all the area around the outside with epoxy right up to the top of the walls. To be honest, the throttle works better without the detent, so probably best not to bother.

To tag onto this has anyone lost any response from buttons set on your controller? I set boost to Cbutton and it worked fine for awhile then stopped working. I checked in the control setup and it's still showing and I tried to reset it but it will not respond. I push the C button and the hat switch on the stick lights up.

Most of my "used to work and now doesn't" issues with X-52 are either for some reason in the MFD settings it has defaulted back to "Clutch Mode"; or I had set a profile and for some reason it stops defaulting to using that so I occasionally need to manually select it

It could be broken/shorting wires due to wear. Another well known problem for some X52 Pros.

Apparently Logitech have been tightening up production QA and moulding quality since acquisition of Saitek. They've just released a fixed version of the X56 (for a far higher price).

I had another thought as I did this exact thing earlier: you cannot boost with landing gear down... I flew out from a station and hit boost and got nothing. messed about with pips, tried again, still got nothing....

Eventually realised my undercarriage was showing (oo-err matron!)

I've had that coming and going many times. It seems to be influenced by other button assignments on the throttle. It's a real nuisance. There's some incompatibility issue between those buttons and ED because they always work in the test panel. I have two identical X52 Pros and different buttons work on them. On one I can scroll the panels with the mouse scroll thing, but not on the other. All the other buttons except the hat have given me problems at some time. I can usually get them all working except one, but which one depends on what I assign the others to and it varies from time to time when other things change, like game updates. I never used profiles nor the software.

I've got Virpil sticks now, and every button works like it should.

I have to say button wise I have no had any problems that I can think of. Except that the wheel on the front of the throttle I use to switch to 75% when coming in to a station or planet etc and sometimes, although very rarely it goes unbound... So after the loop of shame, I just alt tab back to the desktop and then resent the profile to the stick and it's sorted...
