Hardware & Technical X52 pro issues

So, I received my Saitek X52 pro today. It downloaded the drivers fine the first time, but then my computer shut down, out of battery (laptop). Now, when downloading the drivers, I get a message saying "This action could not be completed." My computer recognizes it. Why won't the drivers download? It is plugged into a USB 3.0 port, but no blue screens of death are occurring. Please help, I really want to use it :(

Depending on your chipset your laptop has - you could be in for a whole world of hurt plugging in an X52 Pro. Simple solution is to buy a powered USB 2.0 hub, plug the X52 into that. It's messy but it works. You may also have some luck in shutting off Window's USB power saving - see here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2900614

That link is to an article about windows 8 (I think?). However, my laptop runs windows 7 home premium, 64 bit. I'll probably be getting a powered USB 2.0 hub next week when I get back from vacation. A whole week without Elite Dangerous :( Anyways, thanks for help!

Why don't you manually download and install the driver?

I've heard that X52s and USB 3.0 ports don't get on very well. Do you have a USB 2 port you can use instead?

I was manually downloading and installing the driver, so it's not that. And no, no USB 2.0 port :( I play on a laptop, so I don't know if it's even possible to try the disabling xHCI thing in BIOS. I'm on vacation and I have about 5 days till I get back, so when I do I'm going to buy a powered USB 2.0 hub (on the premise that it's not recieving enough power, since the throttle lights and MFD don't come on when I plug it in most of the time) and because I've heard that a USB 2.0 hub can solve the problem sometimes. Thanks for the help, and any suggestions are welcome. I just hope I can get a refund on the darn thing if I can't fix the problem
