Newcomer / Intro X52 pro problem

My problem is that everything on the X52 is working fine except for the POV2 button.
The problem occurs when I am in either of the UI menus.
The left/right works just fine but the up/down doesn't
That means that I can't issue a docking request, among other things.
I can't believe this is a universal problem, so it is probably my system that is at fault.
That said, I have noticed that the up/down switches do work outside of the UI menus.

Any suggestions please?

Ok, I,ve solved the problem as soon as I posted this request. Typical !!

I assigned the up/down switches in the Options/control menu, and now it works fine.
The odd thing is that if I assign the left/right switches as well, it doesn't work right.
Go figure?
