Hardware & Technical X52 PRO problems

OK sorry for yet another X52 PRO problem topic but this thing is weird.

First off let me say it worked fine on my other PC (although the MFD didn't light up) but this new build is having issues. If it's plugged in windows fails to boot 50-75% of the time, if I boot without it plugged in windows boots fine but then I plug it in and I can't access the internet and windows will not shut down, I have to manually power down. I can't update the drivers as the programme hangs. I can get as far as where it lets you test the functions of the stick and throttle, but hangs after that. I actually had to reinstall firefox at one point because it messed the settings up....

I've read that I should unplug the device, then uninstall the drivers, sorry to be a newb but how do I uninstall the drivers if the device is unplugged? I've tried deleting the temp folders (madcatz) then reinstalling but that doesn't work. It's getting very frustrating......all I want to do is play ED on my new PC.

Are you using Windows 8 or above? If so - you may want to disable the USB "power saving" nonsense in the registry. Also make sure your chipset drivers are up to date, and if you have any super fast USB charging software installed, get rid of it.

No I'm on windows 7 pro 64.

Specs if it helps (pretty sure it's not a hardware issue tho)

Gigabyte z97 gaming 3 (tried using USB 2 and 3 , no joy)
Pentium G3258 (not overclocked ATM)
Corsair vengeance 1866 8GB (2x4)
Palit GTX 960
seasonic m12ii evo 520w

No I'm on windows 7 pro 64.
ok that doesn't suffer from the same USB problem, you should be good using USB2 ports. I'd suggest using the ones socketed on your motherboard, and not using fly-leads to the case. Those can be really rubbish. Try out a powered USB hub too.

Yeah I'm using the mobo usb ports, does't help :)

I get you about the case mounted stuff though, I'm using a budget case (nzxt s340) and it's a solid case, but the front panel audio jack doesn't work, one of the included fans died after a day and the usb 3 lead is very shoddy to say the least.

Have a delve into your BIOS and enable USB legacy support and see if that helps. Also, if you have anything else USB (flash drives, ipods, headsets) unplug everything and boot with just a keyboard, mouse, and the X52 attached.

IIRC legacy support is enabled but I'll have a definite check in the morning. Thanks for the help Asp :) but I'm off to bed.......Add me in game if you like, CMD Jondum Bau (Though I'm back in a sidey after rage quitting and wiping my save because I suddenly became hostile to all fed stations :( )

Thanks man that seems to have solved the issue by disabling xHCI. Installed the drivers and no boot or internet issues as of yet. Had three sucessful boot up so far.
