X52 Pro

I have just upgraded to an X52 pro and cant get the 33, 34 and 39 buttons to register in game, they show as working in the USB setup program.
The 32 button also on the throttle works.
The clutch button has been disabled and I don't use Logitek mapping program.

Any suggestions would be welcome

I guess if you push the I button then it starts flashing right?
if yes, you need to go into the advanced settings. There is an option called clutch or something like that.

Try calibration in the Windows settings and see if they work there. If not, you may have a bad HOTAS.

Edit: You might also want to try unplugging any other USB controllers in case there's a conflict.

Also using a 52pro.
Clutch button can be made usable here:

WinSettings/Devices/Devices and Printers (on the right sidebar), rightclick the hotas and choose "Game controller settings"/go to properties/MFO tab/uncheck clutch mode (lower right)

Alternatively you can open the Start menu, type "control panel", then open it and go to "Devices and Printers" from there.

Easy, right?!? ...

Thank you all for the replies but as I said the clutch button is not the issue as I have disabled it and I can use it as a modifier.

The left hand button 32 (function) on the throttle does work.
It is the middle two 33 and 34(start/stop and reset) and right 39 (MFD select) that isn't.

All other buttons work with the modifier (no 7 button)

I can also just bind 1 button at the base of the throttle unfortunately and searched far and wide for making the others work, but so far didn't find anything. Sorry.

Don't remember the button numbers, are you talking about the buttons on the base of the throttle?
Never got them working either, it's possible that there is some magic that works on them but IIRC they aren't supposed to be bindable.

Try opening the Properties | Test page from the Game Controllers applet and leaving it open in the background while ED is running.

Following a Windows 10 update a while ago (please don't ask me which one), I've found this is the only way to have certain buttons detectable in the game without using the X52 programming software.

Same here. But this will not help with the MFD buttons because they are reserved for MFD functions and not bindable by default.

If it works the same as the non-pro, I suspect it's like how the pinky switch when used as a shift-mode doesn't pass the input to the game when it's defined as that in the profiler. So those buttons would probably work if they were removed from the profile.

No, it's not that simple. IIRC these buttons don't even show up in the profiler because they are only meant to be used with the display.

On my Pro I have the left hand button under the display set to launch heat sinks, as far as I remember I bound it by pushing unused buttons until one registered in the options controls screen.

I had the same when I used to use X52s. Mysteriously, if you reassign various buttons the ones not working start to work. There's a problem between the driver and ED somewhere. If you use profiles and the Saitek profile software, you don't get the problem. I couldn't be bothered to do all that so I just played around with assignments until it worked, though I think I always had one button that didn't work.

ED only recognizes 32 buttons, IIRC. Other HOTASs ( HOTII ? HOTASes ? ) have a similar issues with that many buttons. My setup has 50 buttons or so, and a bunch aren't seen by ED natively, but work fantastically when using utils or the native Windows joystick tester.

I've found that mapping the extra buttons so they emulate a keyboard key works best. There are a number of Utils I've found that will do this, or maybe the native software for the joystick.

Again, your mileage may vary, caveat emptor, etc etc.

Ah, I hadn't noticed that. I only ever programmed button 32 (the leftmost roller/switch) as a test, but never went with having any actual controls bound down there because I can't reliably find them in the dark. Having just had a quick test, nothing above 32 registers in the game. How annoying.

i have to have the control panel open in the background whilst im playing using my X52Pro but everything but the MFD display buttons work including the clutch
