Hardware & Technical X52 weirdness

Greetings CMDR's,

I am using a Saitek X52 Pro, and was wondering about something;

I have heared about the instable software/hardware saitek's x52 model brings, and so far (8 months) its worked like a charm, with some leavers already failing a little bit on the edges (have to set deadzones for some axis). Now, the weird part.

When I open saiteks control panel to set the deadzones or enable the LEDs, the whole joystick acts different in game; Even if I set deadzones for the throttle, it always goes forward 2 m/s (even though I see no input on the control panel, its at 0). Also, I cant boost.
So, I turn the leds on and close down the control panel, which makes the throttle work as it should, I can boost as I should, but something else happens; Minor tilt thrust on the Y axis (to be clear, this does NOT happen when I have the control panel open). Its not that horrible but over time I slightly roll down (annoying in supercruise)... Especially with flight assisst off this is notacible. Now, I noticed that my flight stick "hangs", by default, a little forward. When I pull it back (without tension on the spring, so ever so slightly) it doesnt happen but the weird thing is that it has always been like this, but this just started happening.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

Greets,
Tikas

---- Edit ----

Just wanted to say that I also have placed Deadzones on the Y-axis, it shows zeroed at the default, "leaning forward" position, and when I pull it back as stated above it goes outside the deadzone range into the +Y area. I am so confused...

Sorry not very helpful but just to say I am starting to get the same issue.

Throttled zeroed it occassionally has me at a few m/s.

Rather annoying when you submit to interdiction and it doesn't.

A little trick that worked for me when the stick went slightly out of calibration:

Center all axes of the stick you need, including the throttle and potentially the sliders and rotating controls. The point is that all axes should be off their end stops. Then unplug the stick, wait a few seconds, plug it back into the same port (thanks, Windows...), and move all axes through their full range. You can do this while the game is running.

Ok so just testing now.

Setting deadzone for the throttle in the x52 control panel DOES seem to work for me.

BUT once it's set, then unplug and replug and it seems to honour the new settings.

Like if I set the deadzone to a massive amount in the control panel with ED running there is no immediate change.

But if I use unplug/replug, then right away when it's detected the I can move the throttle around and it stays at zero, due to the massive deadzone.

Thnx Shadow, gonna give this a try. Last time I unplugged my controller my mouse stopped working though :p ... says something...

Ok well after my PC hardcrashed after that I have to say, THANK YOU! I did not know that was the point, putting all sliders halfway through. I can use my full range of the throttle again, its not "flickering" anymore, my Z rotation is working better again. I cant go into the game at this moment but Ill report my findings about the Y+ roll, but I think this was what was needed. Ill let you know! Thanks again Shadow! :D
