hi, i have just got my oculus and started playing elite again, when i stopped playing a while ago all my hotas settings worked perfectly, but now when trying to flt my yaw seems to be stuck forcing me to turn left all the time, anybody know what i have to change to set it back to normal please.

first off, did you plug the HOTAS into the mobo usb ports?

so not in a hub or whatever. otherwise you might have to setup a deadzone, either in the game settings or hotas software.

Hi Conch, plugged into mobo ports, i have never used the Saitek software. everything is as it was when i stopped playing. will have to check and try a deadzone, cheers

Once you've tried everything, then open her up and look for the break in the wires(eventually happens to all X55 throttles/joysticks) , hopefully it is not your wires.

Thats a bit last resort, but i agree.

Are we talking about full out yaw or just a little bit?

The Saitek joysticks are notorious for the less than stellar soldering on the wires. It's possible that one of the wires for the yaw axis has come loose. I had this problem with my Mad Catz Cyborg Fly 5 joystick (Mad Catz used to own Saitek before they sold them to Logitech), where my yaw axis after a year of use suddenly decided that rotating left was its default behavior.

I haven't had any of these issues on my X55, but I've read similar complaints by others who have owned X55's.

You could install the Saitek software and check if the yaw axis is indeed fully pushed to the left or right in the axis visualizer. If so, then it might be time for some solder maintenance.

If there is a minor drift, it might be enough to set-up some dead zones. I had to do this for my roll axis as the joystick would minutely tilt over to the right when left alone, which caused a gentle but annoying tendency to roll my spaceship every time I let go of the stick. With a small dead zone around the center this issue went away.

thanks for the replies guys, i took the grip off of the base and re attached it but still the same, so once in game i reset voice attack, that fixed the issue but now all of my settings in voice attack dont work properly.
I think what i will do is re install everything and try and set it all up yet again. Trouble is, is its a long time ago now when i set up voice attack and cant remember how i went about it all. lets see how it goes.
Meant to say my x55 has not really had that much use, as in amount of hours

I had the same issue with my x55 when I first started using it. Turned out Mouse Controls were still enabled, and my mouse was partially over-riding the joystick, blew up a few times in station before I figured it out. Once the mouse controls are disabled(completely delete the mouse keybindings for yaw/pitch/roll), should be good to go.
