Horizons X55 Rhino Questions

Hi All,

Im a proud new owner of an X55 Rhino.

So far I'm loving it (had it a few hours), throttle is great, stick is nice and responsive.

My only gripe so far is that the joystick seems quite free (loose) even on the hardest spring (green default). It centers itself nicely though I have no idea if this is normal.

I've taken the spring out a couple times just to see if its placed incorrectly, didn't really make any difference. My thoughts are that it could be the grease needs to be really well worn in for the tension to work?

Curious to know if this is something that is normal as I'm used to the stick-force on a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

Yes, it is normal. Just put a lot of ceramic grease under the "hat". It will settle. It still remains a bit wobbly, though, no way around it.

Congrats!

X55 certainly needs some decent break-in time to feel right from my experience. Twist can be tight for example till you hit 20-30hrs use, same with throttle. I actually found the joystick to be a little stiff too even on the weakest spring, but again it got better. Never had the experience of it being too loose as such, but in terms of lube....

I used some WD-40 PTFE Dry Lubricant on my joystick and ball. Small amounts and work it in till it feels right. Put a little on the cusp and ball, and even a little on the spring doesn't hurt (I needed to put some there as it started to squeak after a little while).

Also graphite powder can be useful, but need to be a little more careful with it to ensure it doesnt get into things you dont want it to inside the unit.

Good luck CMDR.
