XB1 controller wireless?

Hello!


i wish to get back into playing in this game someone in the community can help me get a confirm answer i want to use a Xbox One Controller. If i buy this on amazon for my controller would this work?

Oh for real, i was wanting to play this again, cause keyboard and mouse is really hard. i love what you can do in this game, although i wish ti try controller i heard its much better then only thing you would need keyboard is to chat? And how does the set up work? will it Auto set up in game? is there also a manual where it shows how to fly with XB1 controller when plugged when your playing it on PC?

It will work, I'm using the same setup.

You'll only _need_ the keyboard to chat. However, I (and probably others) have put several of the less used commands (like chaff, heatsinks, sensor zoom etc.) onto the keyboard. Compared to e.g. a HOTAS setup, the XB1 controller is simply lacking several buttons.

Auto setup - not really. You'll have to go into the options -> controls menu and select one of the gamepad bindings. Then you can modify them to your taste. Personally, I removed most of the combo commands - all these achieved so far was to reset my power management every time I lowered my landing gear, and fired of heatsinks when I wanted to deploy weapons.

Manual? You wish.... there are probably a few cheat sheet generators out there (e.g. http://www.mcdee.net/elite/ ) that will create a graphic sheet that you can tape next to your cockpit to show you what all the buttons do in which mode.

Not strictly true, if you leave it on the Default Context it will auto configure to the same layout as used on the Xbox one version. Which handily has on screen in game graphics for when you press and hold a multi function button. (So for instance pressing and holding A would then show in game what will happen if you then press another button/pad).
