Xbox Companion App & T-Flight Hotas One ?

Has anyone managed to achieve streaming ED to a laptop via Xbox companion app and using the HOTAS one as a controller ?

Our consols are in the living room and when young one is on the PS4 I'd like to use Xbox one ED on the laptop and still use my HOTAS and not have to go back to the standard controller. When I plug it in to the laptop with the switch in Xbox mode it's only partially working I can use it to navigate around the app but the game doesn't respond properly.

I can leave HOTAS plugged in to the Xbox and just stream the screen to the laptop using a wired controller in the laptop....that works but I'm limited by the length of the cable, I'd like to go fully remote.

I'm of the opinion it's not possible since the HOTAS is not a 'true' controller merely some hybrid device and I don't think the Companion App knows what to properly do with it.

Anyone else tried this, how did you get on ?

The thrustmaster hotas is a stand alone USB controller not a clone of the Xbox wired Xinput controllers so it needs specific apps support to match the specific USB Ident codes of the hotas functions

So No, these controllers don't work over Ethernet or Wifi apps connection natively... The same failure happens with Steering wheels as well...

A Hotas with "PAD" mode is a clone of the Xbox controller this is how Hori hotas works with ace combat 7 because it is a clone of the wired xbox pad and Ace combat has a specific layout preset for the hori hotas thats remapped to the specific lay out of the Hori hotas but thats why the hori has so many issues as it emulates a pad for compliance with games..

You might be able to get a controller Emulator application that might force Xinput controller emulation Software but for know I don't know of one...
Google might know... I there is an emulator app i can't remember...

Doing cargo and exploring via pad remotely on PC is easy but combat is not and does risk the ship due to the lag and the limited controller....

This is the first time I've heard of the hori hotas. Does it work well with ED?
Nope
The Xbox version has a fixed button map that emulates the controller only on Xbox games, (PS4 version has multi config button to alter lay out with out using software to support analogue controlls )
Its Using exactly the same config lay out as the Pad settings in elite, so the hole pad layout has to be remapped manualy for it... just to get going
Trigger is not weapons in ED for example... because ace combat 7 is using Face buttons not bumpers/triggers for weapons...

The throttle and yaw controlls are both digital and there is no twist yaw only buttons, there is no support for the PC hotas mode in games on Xbox with the hori hotas so analogue controls beyond the stick are disabled...

that really sucks. :( I was hoping that it was a good flight stick that i just didn't hear about because we need a better alternative to the Thrustmaster HOTAS. I had two of them. both broke because the sensors went bad and i was flying with a clan that was using them and theirs broke too for the same reason. I guess were just never going to have a decent flight stick for the xbox.

i think the "sensors going bad" is often caused by some of the wires being too taut and causing false input.
i was able to fix mine fairly easily. removed the screws and moved some of the wires about that were too tight and pulling a bit. this fixed my yaw issue and i was able to fix my throttle issue by doing the same. oh, yeah. also, sprayed all the electrical parts with MAF cleaner since i was out of actual electrical parts cleaner spray.

when i had the throttle apart i stretched the tension spring a little to make the throttle movement feel tighter.

I just got frustrated trying to fix it. I had enough time to get a refund since the warranty was still good so I did that and just quit fooling with it. I can get creative with keybinding my elite controller and can get about the same functionality out of it. Maybee moreso. Even still I loved using the Hotas and I'd go back if it was built reliably. Maybee Microsoft will make future xboxes compatible with the PC ones.
