General / Off-Topic Xbox controller issue

I'm having a strange problem with my xbox controller. Where the silver button is there's a 1, 2, 3, 4 and in order for the controller to actually work the green light has to be where the "1" is. It's stuck where the "2" is. Usually unplugging it for 10 minutes moves the green light to 3 then 4 then back to 1, but not today. Also, if I press the silver button it just opens steam. Does anyone have an idea on what will get this to work properly?

Try this:

• Open the Windows Control Panel
• Hardware and Sound heading - View Devices and Printers
• Delete Xbox 360 Controller for Windows
• Disconnect the pad
• Reconnect the pad

You could also right click the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows and Troubleshoot the issue.
