And I mean that, not sarcasm. It is unique and never before have I seen so many functions into a controller. I NEVER have to touch the keyboard, even during landings (thanks to alternative control sets etc) other than to type text. it is amazing. BUT, there's a fly in the ointment, and it doesn't just affect the xbox controller.
You cannot reverse vertical thrust direction in the alternative control set.
Even if you go into the config file and change the entry for the control as follows:
<VerticalThrustAlternate>
<Binding Device="0E6F0413" Key="Pad_RStickY" />
<Inverted Value="1" />
<Deadzone Value="0.00000000" />
</VerticalThrustAlternate>
The game seems to ignore the "inverted value = 1" and so, since I want "back to mean up on both sticks" as it works with my main controls, I end up swapping up/down when landing and swapping to alternates, which can be a pain.
Yes, there is the ability to switch controls during landing so that I get the lateral movement I want from the right stick rather than horizontal rotation I normally get and that allows me to invert the vertical thrust but then I lose the horizontal rotation which is also useful on landing.
Yes, i know, small problem but also another case of #whyowhyowhyfrontier. Did someone sit down and think "ok so we've mapped every control, done a great job with the xbox controller and hmmm... yanno guys we've made it too good. What shall we miss out?".
Please enable! Yes, I have posted about this before but it's that important to me! Maybe I have just missed something, if so, how do I fix it?
