Hardware & Technical Xbox controller weird buttons on Win10

Hi.
Xbox one elite controller, on my computer, works fine, with Win7.
At a friends, on his Win10 computer, I was having problems with his Xbox one (normal) controller, when trying to use 2 button combos.
I plugged my XB1 elite controller in, and it was doing the same thing.
On both of them, the buttons (XYAB) trigger when you take your finger OFF the button, not when you push/depress them.
Must be a software issue, but Windows, & windows 10 especially are totally alien to me.
Any ideas would be most appreciated

Please try downloading the Official Xbox Accessories app on Windows 10 and update the firmware. I also recommend the Xbox One Chatpad which will give you a fully functioning backlit keyboard to take your flying skills to the next level. The Chatpad requires no additional software, Windows 10 and the Xbox Accessories App make this officially possible. I believe the Xbox has an equivalent accessories app. I use the accessories app (windows) to update the firmware for the Elite controller and Chatpad. I use REWASD to customize my key-binds. REWASD is designed for desktop use. Take care and Elite!

The official ChatPad for the xbox controller will afford you a full backlit keyboard at your fingertips. You will have to try very hard to run out of buttons. Take care and Elite!
