How do you guys have your controlls set up, I have my multi cannons going on one trigger and the Beam weapons on the other. What button do you use to launch chaff. I assume you are not swithing modes mid combat.... Please advise.
Dont have them set in the Fire Group and bind a key combo to them,
That way only one will fire at a time....or is that shield cell banks...
X+LB for chaff, X+RB for heat sinks
B+LB = Chaff
Y+DPAD Left = heat Sync
Y+DPAD Right = SCB
Y+DPAD Down = Hud Mode
Y+LB = FSS
But then, I have an Elite Controller.
I have an Elite controller as well, is there a way have the bottom buttons to do something else? I thought they were just X,B,Y,A in different locations.

A+RT - chaff
A+LT - scb
X+LT - heat sink
I actually only recently found out you an use the triggers as part of a contextual binding ... opens up whole new worlds ... kinda .. but hey and extra few binds are always helpful.
Hmm I wonder if we can do RB+RT, or RB+LB, RB+UP, etc...
Will be trying that tonight, unless someone here already knows the answer.
Every time I have tried to use anything other that XYAB + Bumpers & DPAD what ever the XYAB button was mapped to alone will also fire along with what ever you mapped the combinations to. The controls interface lets you so this without complaint but it does not work.
I have B mapped as boost and I have tried to map B+Left Stick Click and boost will always fire. If you look at the Context help when you hold down one of the XYAB buttons it will only show the bumpers and the DPAD.
Not sure if this is an FD thing or an XBOX thing, Adding the triggers to the Context system would be great!
Oh, I know for a fact we can use the triggers in the bindings, I have them set already and have been using them ... added NV toggle, FSS, and a couple other things. No issues with firing the main bind. It was more of a question of whether RB (or similar) as the main button and then another context.
I will test and report back. ... I do know that it will let you bind some options to the same button combo ... my lights would toggle each time I tried to go into FSS at first because I never used to use my lights and forgot that combo was already bound. Lol.
