Xbox controls in the pc version?

So, I'm trying to get back into ED and going through the training again.

I want to be able to play using an xbox 360 controller exclusively as the way i'll be playing it will be sat on a couch in front of a tv. (media center pc hooked up to tv)

Is there a setting which I can select (without spending forever remapping everything) where I can enable Xbox One like controls where for example you hold down a button to get different things.

For example, on a giantbomb stream here is a pic where he's holding down the B button to get a bunch of different selections (on the xbox version):

I do not want to resort to ever using the keyboard when playing a game on my couch.

It was stated that the xbox interface will come to pc and mac. No idea when that will be tho.

As it stands now you can set up your keybinds to do what's in the video. We just don't have the gui for it.

I use a 360 controller and never have to touch my keyboard unless I want to type a message, or use my macros.

Isn't another difference the ability to click the left stick on Xbox to switch between main and alternate controls? I don't remember having that ablity when I tried setting up my xb1 controller on the pc

My joystick recently died on me, and i asked in the xbox thread about settings for use with my xbox controller i now had to use.
I got some good replies, and eventually came up with a good profile.
I was surprised how easy to use the xpad was, and i feel that the keybinds were build for both joystick and the xbox from the beginning.
I actually now prefer the xpad to my old joystick, and i never touch the keyboard in game, except for messages.
I can give you this picture if it helps.
This design is logical, as A button combo's is for weapons, B is for screens and landing gear ect, Y combo's is for all targeting (plus maps) and X combo's for all power adjustments, (and a few other stuff).
It started as the advance xbox defaults, and still is other than the obvious changes i made.

Thanks, good to know. I was wondering whether it was in the pc build but you had to enable some hidden setting somewhere.

I'll just wait for it to appear in the pc version then, hopefully it should crossover easily from the Xbox to the pc.

Now, hopefully they can work on the font size ui issue too. I hope the feedback from the Xbox version is that they give the option to increase the font ui size as it is incredibly hard to read when on a tv. (perfectly readable when sat in front of a monitor though)

Since it's been a few months I thought I'd give ED another go, stilll no prompts like in the Xbox version. Will Frontier actually be bringing these controls to the pc?

Honestly, this is good news.

I thought they were already in the game just XBONE exclusive and the 360 controllers just had to tough it (I know it sounds daft all being microsoft and xbox, but its the xbone push). Personally i dont like the thin smaller analogues of the xbone so i'm happy its not in yet although at the same time dissapointed its taken so long.
