Boom... that was indeed a shameless advertisement!
Sorry Brett C, I'm not sure that was exactly discussing the merits of groups on the Xbox one, but everyone else was doing it
/bandwagon
so yeah I guess I will also throw in my two cents regarding this subject:
obviously groups are a good thing in Elite.. that kinda goes without saying, it's an MMO and if there isn't a big focus on working together (or against each other) then you're really missing a trick.
but the Devs know this fact, of course, and I for one am glad to see things like wing missions and 'bosses' (thargoids), and 'heists' (megaships).. all of which are meant to be done in groups.
good job lads and ladies of the frontier departments.
however...
I find there is somewhat of a communication problem on Elite, ESPECIALLY on the consoles, as console players are less inclined to use forums and external stuff for the game.
this is something I have brought up before, even going so far as to make a
video on the subject
I think there is lots to do when you have a group of players, it is just FINDING that group in the first place that is annoying.
some kind of LFG system akin to the multi-crew system would be great for finding new friends and especially planning EVENTS
rolling player faction lore into the upcoming galactic encyclopedia would be a fun idea and would let other players discover about player factions
bring back the local news papers!! oh how I loved them....
okay I'm done... a rant and a cup of tea in the early afternoon, how terribly British of me
thoughts and feedback please.
